How do I change the bulbs in my headlights? Both the high beams quit at the same time but the low beam still works.Fuse? Short? Or bad luck!

The bulb itself is very small. Reach in, grab the back of the bulb and turn to the left - the bulb should come out easily. You can leave the wires attached or get the bulb out first and then unplug them.
Since both Hi-Beams failed at the same time, I doubt that the bulbs are the problem. I would check the fuses, then the H-beam-Lo-Beam switch.

My '93 lexus headlights won't turn on. if I hold the switch to "flash" the high beams, the lights are on, but just to drive at night or during the rain, nothing lights.

Go to your local auto parts store and buy some new ones. They will help you put them in. It sounds like you lost the low beams. When the low beams go out the high beams will still work. It just sounds to me like the bulbs are out. if not they shouldn't charge you for the bulbs.

I am sure that a 12 Volt bulb means it needs 12 Volts. Since you changed the bulb to the other side, why not check the voltage in the working side and see what it reads?

Sometimes the turnstalk can interfere with the lighting. Try pushing the Hazard switch several times and see if the headlights straighten out. I read that too much goes through the turnstalk and that using the Hazards can derail a contact inside the stalk.

If this does not help, you may need a headlight relay in the powerbox. One contact may be dirty or burned down for the wire it feeds. Unless you have a single wire feeding both low beams to the headlights, I would bet the left and right side come out directly through the relay.

Installed new low beam headlight and light will

Hi, if you have a meter to check the bulb, use it to check the wiring to the socket or wiring for power when light switch is turned on. You should have around 12 volts depending on year and type of truck or auto. If the old bulb was burned, you should have power there. When you turn on switch, the other side should work and you will know you have power and it may just be corroded. Check this and you should find the problem. Please keep me posted on this, I will be around to help you. Please rate me kindly if I have been of help to you.
Sincerely,

Headlights don't turn on when the switch is pulled out, but park lights and high beams work

Replace the switch it is most likely bad or both headlights blew out which is unlikely, will the headlight work on high beem, check for 12 volts at the plug that goes to the headlight bulbs if voltage is present at both headlights the bulbs are probably blown.

High beam headlights quit working. Bulbs are OK.

If your getting power at the headlight wire harness, then it's going to be the bulb it self, but make sure your checking the right 12 volt terminal at the plug. There should be three terminals there, there is a ground, 12 volt low beam, and a 12 volt high beam. If both the low and high 12 volts are getting power, then it's going to be the head light bulb it self that has reached the end of it's life time since the day time running lights are always on which is the high beams. Good luck and check the fuse box under the hood by the battery.

I have no high beam headlights just low beam with 12 volts and low beam with 8 volts and the high beam light stays on in the dash all the time

Check Hi beam bulbs they may both be burnt out, and check both fuse boxes. Headlights are offen on separate fuses Left/right so you don't end up with no lights at all

Low beam headlight is out, doesn't look like a fuse

Check the Headlight Switch. If your headlights come on automatically check the headlight sensor and its associated relay.
