Transmission fluid and Power teering fluid are both types of hydraulic fluid. There are differences. Hydraulic fluids can contain a wide range of chemical compounds, including: oils, butanol, esters (e.g. phthalates, like DEHP, and adipates, like bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate), polyalkylene glycols (PAG), phosphate esters (e.g. tributylphosphate), silicones, alkylated aromatic hydrocarbons, polyalphaolefins (PAO) (e.g. polyisobutenes), corrosion inhibitors, etc.
Brake fluidBrake fluid is a subtype of hydraulic fluid with high boiling point, both when new (specified by the equilibrium boiling point) and after absorption of water vapor (specified by wet boiling point). Under the heat of braking, both free water and water vapor in a braking system can boil into a compressible vapor, resulting in brake failure. Glycol-ether based fluids are hygroscopic, and absorbed moisture will greatly reduce the boiling point over time. Silicone based fluids are not hygroscopic, but their inferior lubrication is not suitable for all braking systems.
There is also some concern (long term) of the affect on seals.

Where do i put the transmission fluid in a 1993 plymouth voyager? details please

The "little box" is probably the power steering reservoir, if it is at the front of the engine. The Transmission fluid filler is usually near the firewall (windscreen) and will be a tube leading to the gearbox, sometime has a dipstick coming out of it to check the fluid level as well as provide a way to top up.

Plymouth voyager is leaking pink fluid what could it be

Hi Barajas, The pink fluid may well be automatic transmission fluid. (ATF) The fluid in question is used in the automatic gearbox and the power steering unit. Different fluids come in different colors in different countries, but ATF is usually red or pink. Check the fluid levels in the gearbox and the power steering unit and I believe you'll find one of them is lower than its meant to be. Regards John

I need to check my power steering fluid and cant figure out where it is located.

power steering fluid is located closest to the drivers seating part of the engine. as a matter of fact, every other fluids in the car is housed in a larger container engine oils, antifreeze, water wipers, transmission all of which are located away from drivers seating area of the engine. Open the engine of car, take some time to observe that each comparment chamber have written demarkations of type of fluid intakes.

Im a single mom and dont have a owners manual for my voyager, that was given to me. i want to make sure im putting the right fluids in. can you help? it doesnt tell me on the dipsticks like some...

Engine oil for cold climates 5w-30. Warmer climates 10w-30. Any Auto-zone parts store person at the counter would be more than helpful choosing the correct fluids for your vehicle.

1995 plymouth voyager transmission does not shift higher then 2nd gear unless warm?

Potential problem - useful life of that transmission is about 120k. Have you noticed any drip under the vehicle coming from the trans area? Make sure the fluid level is correct and check with a transmission shop. They can put a scanner on and check for codes.
