F150 Super Crew Cab 2001 Battery light stays on my concern is the battery is not charging because my son crossed the postive land negative leads. It did blow the Radio Fuse but everything else is working fine and the new battery allows us to start it. Why would the light stay on.

In many caseas, when the battery cables have been crossed, it would tend to blow a (or more than one) rectifier diode(s) in the alternator. I would take the truck to a parts dealer (such as autozone or checker, etc.) or your dealer to have a VAT(Voltage, Alternator, Test) done. it is usually free. good luck!!

Battery light stays on

That generally indicates that the battery is bot being recharged. You need to have the charging system tested in the vehicle to find out.

Brake lights stopped working then head lights started blowing now turn signals stopped working

I would put a voltmeter on it and check the charging system to make sure its not over charging or spiking. Also check all your battery connections positive and negative from battery to starter and negative from battery to engine to the frame. Make sure they are all clean and tight.

Battery light stays on. Had the alternator checked and is fine. Have replaced the battery and checked the connections. What else could it be?

have the charging system checked out find out if its charging anything.this may have been why the battery light stays on.usually a bad battery won`t turn on the battery light as its used to let the driver know that the charging systems needs to be checked out.

Batery light on in 2003 ford f-250. Battery checked ok and charged but light still on.

sounds like a bad alternator, make sure its charging, if it is then theres a bad diode in alternator, replace it and the light will go off. good luck.

Batteries won't charge while wired to truck

Hi, seems that your alternator diodes are faulty.
You can check this by disconnecting the radio & switching off all interior lights etc.
Then remove one battery lead.
Then get an amp meter and connect it between the battery & the removed lead.
If you get a reading the alternator is drawing current , hence faulty diodes.
The alternator will still charge the battery when the engine is going but then discharges when stopped.
Also check your batteries with a hydrometer by checking the battery acid in each cell as you could have a dodgey cell in them.
