This sounds to me like it is a ground and the problem with that is finding were the ground is shorting out one way is to first check all your connections to make sure there is no corrosion and then to make sure and ground wires that are visible have good contact. I might try to run a wire from the other side if this does not help just to verify that the ground is bad but that would be the best bet,

more than likely the main headlamps control switch unit is at fault - common failure with this model - replace the complete switch assembly, and all circuits should return to normal.

Where is the fuse for the dash lights . the light are bright with key on. Go dull when the headlights are turned on

That is normal. They go bright because during the daytime the outside light is also bright so the lights compensate for the outside brightness by making your dash lights also bright. When you turn your headlights on it assumes it is nighttime and you don't need to have the brightness to see the dash lights so it compensates for this. If you want them to be dimmer, near the light switch there is a roller button to turn your interior lights on just roll that some and it will either make the dash lights brighter or dimmer.

When I turn on the bright lights, one headlight goes out. when I turn off the bright lights, the other headlight goes out

you may need 2 light bulbs. check real close, if they go out compltely or really dim.... if dim, you have a ground wire issue, if they go out completely the bulbs are bad.

Lights seem ultra dim

yes. it could be a poor ground. If you are handy you can check this out yourself, otherwise go to any autoelectric shop where the technician will solve this for you.

Head Lights

If only the headlights are dull and not putting out the correct light, I would suspect a bad ground (earth) connection somewhere in the headlight circuit or the fuse for the headlight circuit. Something is causing excessive resistance and causing less voltage to be provided for the headlights. If all the lights are dimly lit, then I would check the charging system, the battery and the ground cable for the battery, chassis, and engine.
