Misfire on cylinder no.1 fault code P0301

there are a few things that set this code.a bad spark plug,a bad spark plug wire,a bad ignition coil,a bad fuel injector(either not working or very dirty),a compression problem(either poor valve sealing or piston assembly problem),a vacum leak at cylinder #1,the rule of thumb is you need 3 things for a cylinder fire,spark-fuel-air.

How do I change the spark plugs for a 2001 xj8 where are they located

They are located under the black plastic covers on the top of the engine. Remove those and you will see the ignition coils. Take those out and the spark plugs are beneath them. There are no spark plug wires.

Once the plastic covers over the valve covers have been removed you will see the coli packs. Remove the 2 screws holding these in place and this will give you direct acess to the spark plugs.

How do I change the plugs on my 2002 jaguar x-type 2.5 v-6?

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Then start at the front of your engine. Pull the spark plug wire off the spark plug from the boot that covers the spark plug. Remove spark plug from engine block, take new spark plug, check for proper gap and adjust if necessary, and then install new one into block. Repeat for the rest of the plugs. Re-connect negative battery cable and you should be good to go.

2001 jaguar s-type 4.0 oil in spark plug area

Hi bravo956
i also have the same problem regarding the oil leak. this is due to the spark plug gasket leaking and you will need to replace them. they are circular gaskets about 1.5 inches across that fit to the underside of the rocker covers and prevent oil from seeping down the long spark plug hole. when i investigated my leak i assumed it was just the rocker cover gasket that was leaking but once everything was removed it is obvious.
