2003 focus loses memory when tured off 2 mechanics said it might be a fuse what fuse is it car wont hold its memory

Could you tell me more it could be several things could be fuel pump fuse could be fuel safty shut off switch could be starter could be loose wire conection when you try to start it what does it do does it turn over does it make a squeeling noise

This sounds like a bad activating circuit. The ignition switch is suppose to send juice to the Alternator. Also the plastic plug connectors holding the small wires into the Alternator can ride up and miss the metal tabs they are suppose to fit on. Mechanics often pull the metal connectors out of the plastic connector, then slide the metal connectors onto the Regulator tabs inside the Alternator opening. The Mechanics slide the plastic connector housing over the already attached metal connectors and call it a day.

Maybe, a wire came lose. Did you hit anything? Spill any water inside? Could be a short, considering they all went out. Did they all go out at once?

could be the belt tensioner is bad. That will loosen the belt so the car battery goes weak and will make a bad noise. Could have gotten a defective alternator.

How many miles are on this vehicle? It could be the catalytic converter. mike [email protected]

it depends on certain mechanic shops. of course the dealer is always way higher. estimated 1 1/2 to 2 hours to put on depending if you have to pull off the timing belt. cost will be estimated about 250.00. call around some mechanic shops and see. some will be different than others.
