When accelerating (aprox 30-60km only) rumbling happens. If you let up on the gas it stops, but as soon as you re-press the gas it rumbles again. Shakes entire vehicle. Help!

If the noise also occur when the car is at full stop while reving it high then have the engine observed while the hood is up. See if there is excess shaking it may be a bad engine support. If it only occurs when the car is running it may be the drive shaft or the transmission. You may need to raise the car and inspect the drive shaft down to the transmission. At times it could also be just the wheels depending on the noise and the shaking. Check first the wheel, have the front swapped with the back and see if there is a significant change. Your wheel may just need balancing. While at it inspect the thread for uneven wear. You may need to do some alignment of the wheels.

1996 bmw z3 automatiuc transmission. It feels like my drivwe shaft is rumbling where it meets my diferential. Only when I accelerate quickly from a stop.

the rear universal is probably gone bad at rear of drive shaft. does it clunk when shifting from park into drive, get under vehicle, when it is turned off. you can leave it in park. grab drive shaft and see if you can wiggle it. if so its the universal joint on drive shaft.put on e-brake before getting under it. if it is bad, its best to change both front and back universals. Good-day!

Rattling noise when accelerating

I would need to know what vehicle this is? 4 Cylinder. V6? 3.0? There are a few things it could be,

If the Engine is Moving, it could be hitting something so I would check the Motor Mounts (Happens quite Frequently on Taurus)

Rearend rumbling

Since it only does it when ya let off the throttle, with car stopped and raised enough you can reach the drive shaft with emergency brake on and shift in neutral, grab the drive shaft and twist it back and forth to check if too much backlash in rear pinion and ring gear.If too much backlash, pull the drive shaft off the rear and tighten the nut JUST enough to take the backlash out near completely.Riger says, don't let the car roll while doing this.Block all wheels.

I ha ve a grand am 97 when i acelered to 40,000 rpm the motor rumble and go down to 30,000 rpm and go up and down i don't know what happen

You must mean 4000 to 3000rpm. A 1997? Unless it was't taken good care of it shouldn't have hurt it. A lot of front wheel drives have "rumbles" from normal wear and tear. Check all of the belts and pumps for any things that may unbalance the motor such as loose belts or the devices themselves. Automatic transmissions can make this rumble too. Do not go that high in acceleration unless motor has a load on it for that vehicle being old.

If my ac compressor or ac belt is going out in my chevy tahoe (2003) will the engine make a rumbling sound when you only turn the ac on and will there be a squeal when you turn the ac on and accelerate the...

sounds like the belt needs tightening or replacing so yes you are indeed correct about the squeal, as for the rumble depends on how bad the rumble is but it shouldnt be caused by either you mentioned.

I have a 2002 Chevy Cavalier. When accelerating and turning to the left and accelerating from a stop it produces a rumbling noise. I have also put it into gear, put the brakes and pressed the accelerator...

When turning, it produces a torque load on the rotation of the engine. The turning and this noise is heard, and can be duplicated while sitting still, sounds to be from an engine mount, or transmission mount that has or is failing. If more info is needed, please leave me more info. Craig

My Maintenance Required light flashes

The light comes on if you've gone twice as far as is recommended since your last oil change.

You can reset it by holding the odometer button in, while turning the key from off to run (not start). Hold the button in until the light goes out. Then start it.

As for the rumbling, does it rumble when in park and the gas is pressed? What about neutral with the gas pressed?

Does the rumbling coincide with a sudden change in RPM? If so, this indicates it's a gear shift issue.
