If you haven't done so recently it is time to change the belt. The grooves in the belt get worn down and it doen't make proper contact with the pulleys. If that doen't help the belt tensioner may also need replaced as it may not be holding enough tension on the belt.

Belt seeks only when air conditioning is on and the wheel is turning

Unfortunately, the answer to this is only a temporary fix. With the engine off. take a bar of soap and rub it vigoruosly along the inside and outside surfaces of the belt. I assume you have a serpentine belt, if not, they need tightening.

The steering wheel makes a creaking sound everytime you turn it, could that be powere steering belt or something? It is full of ps fluid.

Check the belt to see if it's tight enough and check the power steering fluid reservoir to make sure it's full to the full mark. If neither of these are the problem the power steering pump is the problem.

Replace power steering pump.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. If necessary, remove the air cleaner duct and the air cleaner.
  3. Remove the drive belt from the air conditioning compressor, if equipped.
  4. Loosen power steering pump belt adjustment as follows:
    1. Loosen the pivot and mounting bolts.
    2. Loosen the idler pulley locknut and turn the adjusting nut counterclockwise to remove the power steering belt.
  5. Loosen the power steering hoses at the pump and remove the bolts holding the power steering pump to the bracket.
  6. Disconnect and plug the power steering hoses and remove the pump from the vehicle.
To install:
  1. Using new O-rings, connect the power steering hoses to the steering pump.
  2. Install the power steering pump and secure it with its mounting bolts. Tighten the front and rear mounting bolts to specifications.
  3. Install the remaining components in the reverse order from which they were removed.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
  5. Fill the power steering system, start the engine and turn the steering wheel from side-to-side to bleed air from system

Whining noise when i turn the steering wheel on my audi tt. it was never there before but is slowly getting worse over the last few weeks

Check your power steering fluid level. Also inspect for leaks and the condition of the belt that drives the power steering pump. Could be a loose or damaged belt, loss of fluid and air in the system, or you pump might be going.

Clicking/Squealing When Turning Wheel

Could be two problems. First the power steering; Check the tension of the drive belt for the power steering and the condition of the belt. If that appears to be OK, check the level of the fluid and its condition or apperance compared to new fluid that is recomended by the manufacturer. If that appears OK, it could possibly be the power steering pump it self. Second the clicking; It is most likely a bad CV (constant velocity) axle. Good Luck.
