On some models there is a small round opening in the rear bumper, and you have to use the tool that comes with the jack assembly to lower the donut tire down , if you don't see any opening, then look under the truck at the area of the donut tire for a opening in which the tool can be inserted into to lower the tire. hope that this information has helped you.

When do u use the traction control button on 2005 chevy equinox ?

Traction control is for safety. It reduces wheel spin. When it is turned on it is harder to lose control in slippery road conditions. Like doing donuts in the snow.

How to replace exhaust donut on 99 wrangler

This is pretty straight forward, you need to locate the exhaust manifold and follow it down to where it connect to the exhaust pipe, there three bolts on the joint and you take those out. Then see if you can separate the pipe from the manifold. If you cannot separate them then you need to get under the jeep and loosen the holders for the exhaust pipe. When you can separate the joint, take the old doughnut out and put in the new one. Make sure that you get it tight and that you tighten the bolts evenly. Don't over tighten one side.

Hi i have a suzuki grand vitara 1999 and under power going up hill it smells like sulpher so i looked under the car and noticed that 1 of the spring loaded bolts that hold the y pipe to the exhaust was...

That round mushy metal gasket is called an exhaust donut gasket. You should replace it as it might be deformed now and not seal. Yes you need to use the spring loaded bolts. They are used so that the exhaust system can flex when you accelerate and not lose its seal.

T brakes after driving on a donut pare

I believe driving on the donut spare has nothing to do with the problem-it isn't all wheel drive option is it? You say you added brake fluid, how low was the level? If it is losing fluid, you might have a rusted brake line that is leaking. Any evidence of a leak under the van? It's possible the master brake cylinder is bad, but this seems to be a sudden start of the problem. Did the tire blow out or did you go out to find it flat in the morning? I believe this is a leaking brake line issue. It is possible that if the tire blew out while driving, or you hit something (like debris) in the road, it may have damaged a brake line. As I mentioned earlier, it could just be a rusted leaking brake line. If brake fluid leaked on the exhaust or any hot components, it would give off a 'chemical' smell ( or even have an odor if it just leaked out) Let me know what you find.

How far can you drive on a spare tire ''donut''.

It should say on the Donut Not to exceed 35 Miles Per Hour. It is OK to drive on, Just make sure that it is Properly Inflated and you do not go too Fast as it will shred the tire and you will have a Bigger Problem!
