Well, you can only remove the tires and check for brake hardware broken or loose, shock bolts or torsion bar bolts broke. if this is a rear wheel drive then you can remove rear cover plate and visually inspect ring and pinion gears for broken teeth.

Clunking in front end


These trucks had a problem with tje ac commpressor clutch breaking i would recomend sliding under truck and looking closely at the ac clutch. also the idler pulleys tensioner and waterpump pulley as these are also problematic

Check your tranny mount sometimes the rubber part cracks and makes a clunking sound, also check your universal joints on the driveshaft if they are bad they will clunk, both are cheap fixes.
