Hi.
sounds like the transmission fluid needs changing.
if it is fine cold, and has problems when warm, it sounds like the oil is getting too thin when warm.
it may be a worn transmission, but i would certainly change the fluid before worrying about anything else

I would have the transmission serviced. A fluid flush and a new filter might do the trick. Sounds like the fluid bis breaking down and becoming too thin to do the hydrolics it needs to engage and disengage. common problem. people do forget that fluid should be changed also and fully flushed out and cleaning the pan out helps.

Firing order jeep Cherokee 2004 3.7 l v6

are you doing spark or timing a cam? what? what is JOB?
it dont matter, the engine, ecu does that, (magic)
but if it has a coil pack like my 3.8 then the coil pack must
be wire right and is marked. clearly on the pack.
they have USA jeeps and Export. country never stated here. sad huh?
and use differnent spark systems (3 types used, but 2 common)
per below.

v6.
is this not a Cheokee? the non Grand ended in 2004. so...
ill go with GC 2005, v6 3.7L
the v6 began in 2005, not 2004, but, maybe yours is the first./

the 3.7 has coil over plug, spark, 6 coils.
and the harness is fixed to those coil so all firing order are
dictated in the ECU/PCM (hard coded)

VIN engine code, K. (not stated)
http://www.fixya.com/cars/t13893405-firing_order_diagram_3_7l_jeep_2006

and already asked, and answered .

my 3.8 (2004) jeep.
is 1,2,3,4,5,6
and is like this.

mine uses wasted spark system.

http://www.fixkick.com/look/odds-ends/jeep/2008-JK/slideshow/firing-order.JPG

so post VIN, or tell what engine is really there.
and the true year. or build date (sticker)

so my answer is.. 2005 GC, 3.7L V6, not I-6
it has 6 cops, "coil over plugs" 6 induction coils
and runs same firing order, as the old I6 did.
1-5-3-6-2-4
but the I6 4.0liter runs a coil pack and is quite different.
these;

25312317-ojiabjcoymo5cw32jzjg31w5-2-0.gif
times 6
all laced in, hard.

2005 jeep GC wont shift out sometimes unless u rev engine high or u turn it off and it resets

Any chance you have a check engine light on ?
If so I would have the computer scanned for trouble codes.

Changed coil in 1993 jeep grand cherokee lerado still not getting fire from coil

Have your ignition module checked. Also check codes for bad reference signal for cam or crank sensor.

Ignition Coil

Look into the crank sensor or an ecu that needs repairing. Those two, being bad, will cause a no spark condition in your jeep.

Sounds like a shift solenoid. They are not too expensive and fairly easy to install. You will need to drop the pan and then you should be able to see the solenoids. But, before you do, put a scan tool on it and make certain. Good Luck

Sounds temperature related. That's just about the amount of time it takes for the engine to warm up and change computer modes. It's possible that you have a lazy temperature sending unit. They aren't very expensive or difficult to install (assuming you have a 4.0, its right next to or on the thermostat housing.) They can be tested using a digital volt/ohmeter.
As it's running well at all other times, if it's not the sender, it will require lots of careful testing and a code scan and may be difficult to find since you only have a narrow "window" where testing will show the problem.
Good luck

Jeep grand cherokee stalls after warming up

You need to check components again when the engine is hot and in no-start condition, otherwise, you will get bad info...obviously whichever part is doing this works fine cold. ones that react most to heat are crank pickup, ignition coil and the fuel pump.(bad ones get hot and bind up)

I powered washed the engine on my jeep GC limited and now it wont start at all. what can i do or try

Try removing each sensor plug and blowing both sides out with compressed air (even a bike pump is better than nothing) Your computer system works on subtle changes in low voltage circuits Water throws all right out the window. Also dry off cap and rotor, including ign wires to avoid high tension crossover. And, don't wash it again...a dirty jeep is a happy jeep!!!
