Fill oil to full level and immediately start vehicle let run a few. Drive for a day and see if things change. How long was it low and how low was it at what speeds were you driving? I hope it was just low and you will be fine. I would also do a oil change on it using a little heavier oil for summer use Instead of the 5w 30 oil recommended

I have a 2002 jeep liberty help with the tapping noise and stalling

The tapping is the valves hitting against the buyer upper part of engine. The stalling is most likely the computer shutting down engine. You might have engine damage. The tapping comes and goes according to engine rpm the higher the rpm the louder the tapping. If I was have it towed to u mechanic and have them run test engine might be beyond repair

Well i have been told i am leaking oil from the front seal and oil pan. second off i was even told that my car sounds like the rod about to go through the crank shaft. it only taps when i run to much .

If the car is run or has been ran to many times or to long with low oil, then the rod problem could very well be true. But rods usually knock at the first start of the engine and then goes away. ( oil pressure builds up). If yours makes the noise after the engine is hot and been running for sometime, I would suspect the lifters tapping. This could be from low oil, from the oil not being changed (low viscosity), Or the engine is just to hot. You will need to listen to the noise the next time it comes up and determine where it is coming from. Top or Bottom. I would try to fix the oil leaks. I would start with the front seal, to see if it is just throwing oil around the oil pan.

Checked oil. it was 1 to 2 quarts low. no idea for how long. seems as though the top of the engine makes a slight tap or clacking sound when accelerating. what is the least that the problem could be. and...

It sounds like bearing noise to me. you ran it to low on oil and ran a bearing dry. you can try a thicker oil. if it doesnt go away your gonna need a motor job.

Ticking noice from engine on accelaration, gets louder as I go faster

this is a common problem i see weekly and is usually the lifters making the tapping noise and is due to sludge in the engine and low oil pressure through the head seen often in the 1.8t ..i recommend to have the oil pressure checked oil pump pickup may be getting plugged from sludge the heads in these are notorious for the timing chain tentioner to wear out and then disintegrate if not the problem probably an oil change would be good and add some lifter treatment to the oil this will help
