Question about 2004 Acura MDX
The message signals the fact that the central unit can no longer communicate with the disk unit. All you can do is to check that the disk unit receives power and the connection is in good order: the connector is not corroded and it's firmly plugged in, the wires are intact - you should dismantle it for testing and to recover the disk.
If this is the case then, indeed, you will need a new unit - this one has failed.
