Question about 2004 Acura MDX

1 Answer

The GPS dvd-rom drive on my 04 Acura MDX Touring with RES & nav shows "Please check disk" as a green banner on the screen,(and nothing else will show or work on the screen) it's the drive located under the passenger seat. I removed the unit and the GPS disk is still in the drive. I blew smoke at the back of the unit and the fan is not running. the drive shows moderate rust under the bottom of the unit. When i plug in the unit the fan doesnt react to power at all,(not even a twitch, which is common for computer power supplies) Any idea? Im figuring new drive. Uhhh

The message signals the fact that the central unit can no longer communicate with the disk unit. All you can do is to check that the disk unit receives power and the connection is in good order: the connector is not corroded and it's firmly plugged in, the wires are intact - you should dismantle it for testing and to recover the disk.
If this is the case then, indeed, you will need a new unit - this one has failed.

Need radio code. somehow battery drained last night. now it is asking for radio code. 2003 acura mdx touring pak & navi

Check your manual in the glove box, maybe the previous owner wrote it down for you.Otherwise you will need to buy back the code from the Acura dealer. It's $50 for the code here where I live, you need proof of ownership too.Good luck!

Changed battery of my 2002 acura mdx, need codes for radio nav

You need to get the serial number off the sticker attached to the radio and nav. It will require pulling apart your dash. Call an Acura dealership with that serial number and they should be able to provide you the code. Or you can take it directly to the dealer but you will be charged labor.

2004 Acrura MDX navigation system goes blank after disclosure.

I had the same problem and carefully cleaning the map DVD solved it. After years of use, a film gets built up on it. It is under the front passenger seat.

Acura MDX Navigation system is intermittent. Need to remove it to send to Alpine for repair. Can't find instructions.

its really easey to remove the dvd unit under the pasenger seat. just put the seat all the way forward and pull the plastic guard from the seat track (pull straight back) then unplug the harness connectors in the back of the unit.
Then put the seat all the way back and remove the 1o mm nuts on the side brackets of the unit and pull it forward.
