I have the same truck with the same non-start problem. Only 20,580 miles on mine, but it ran great one day - then a few days later, NOTHING! Batteries good, everything fires like normal with the glow plugs, power to the starter solenoid and switched power to the relay. It just doesn't turn over - no clicks, no draw ... guessing it's a bad solenoid or starter, maybe the Cam Position sensor like noted above? I jumped the battery lead to the starter side of the relay and just got the starter to spin - no engagement or start though. The bendix did not appear to be spinning out. Any ideas?

OK...I took my starter to the auto parts store and they tested it, all good. I have concluded that the rust that grew on the solenoid blocked the current from the solenoid to the starter (or from the ignition switch to the solenoid). Anyway - no replacement solenoid is available for the Powerstroke starters, but the guy at the auto parts store noticed they are the same as other Ford solenoids. We tried one of the other Ford truck starter solenoids and it works great! I also cleaned the mounting area and battery power lug and lug to the starter itself. It all works great - maybe try it if you're having problems with your truck.

Hey jdo18015 check your batteries (load test) and all the connections including at the starter also check your alternator if all test good check the cps (cam positioning sensor) they were notorious for failure. they are cheap and easily fixed in 10 minutes some people I have talked with have had to change these 1/2 dozen times in 2 years. keep a spare! if it turns out to be the cps (good possibility) it is a ford recall for trucks 1996-2003-4 not certain on that but it will fixed without charge. hope this helps you, good luck

Will not start (electrical) first time did not start for 36 hours, then started fine, drove 300 miles, did not start, 24 hours later started again, drove less than 5 miles, did not start. 24 hours later...

Many things could be your problem but i would say your coverter is stopping up, or ECM "computer" need's reset., You can do this yourself by turning the key to on position turn on a/c then disconnect battery cable " POSITIVE" wait 30 sec. turn key off and connect battery back, Good luck hope this helps some but it could really be many different things.

Replace the intermediate shaft. See TSB (KT2008101402). It connects the steering to the rack and the u-joint binds.

My 2000 ford contour just yesterday started getting sluggish, eas having problems getting past 50 miles per hour.like when you pull something with your truck up hill.. then today we drove it to town this...

First try changing the fuel filter. It is extremely easy and costs about 12 dollars at Wal-mart. If that doesn't work than try changing the fuel pump itself. Little more costly but still pretty simple to do.
