Question about Renault Le Car

1 Answer

I have a 2004 renault grand scenic and every 7-10 days the battery is flat. I have had a new battery fitted and been to 2 garages for a diagnostic check but they cant find a problem. Im starting to get anxious driving it especially when im on my own or if the kids with me. Any help/ideas would be grateful x

This is a common fault for Renault scenics.its the central locking/immobiliser system, and would you believe it, as the fault is intermitant(sometimes it shows, sometimes not)you will need to let the garage drive it around for a WEEK OR TWO so that they can put the diagnostic computer on everytime they turn it off.the last one i did took a MONTH.(swopped cars with the customer she drove mine,i drove hers).she now never locks it.with the remote.

take it back to the garage as they are responsable for the good return of your vehicle and don't take them saying they never went near battery

The battery of my Renault Scenic is flat, I need to open the bonnet to fit a new battery. How do I do that

There should be a bonnet release handle in the vehicle low and almost under the dashboard. Pulling that handle is the first step. After pulling that handle if you go to the front of the vehicle then under the bonnet there should be an additional handle to move right or left to completely release the hood.

Problem with emmisions on a renault megane scenic 54 reg

Hi

From what you have described in your post and speaking from personal experience and without using a diagnostic tool there is a high possibility there is a problem with your camshaft sensor,
Part number 8200285798 for this is a common problem on these models.
DF119 or code DTC 0340 is the code given for this fault by Renault's diagnostic tool in some cases the code does not store itself into memory making diagnosis of the problem more difficult.

It would be interesting when you solve your problem to let us know.
Hope this information was helpful!

05 Renault Grand Scenic. No dipped headlights. Bulbs and fuses OK

Are u sure that the bulbs are OK? I had no dipped lights on mine, & thought it must be a fuse or another electrical fault. It turned out, both bulbs had gone. I think this often happens when one side goes, the other soon follows.

Battery problem

sounds like there is a dodgy earth or have you had a new stereo/electrical equipment fitted? could be that there is a fault in the electrics causing the power to drain, wouldnt say that it was the immobiliser though.
