I cant remember if this was a problem on the 99 models but the radio not working has something to do with the anti-theft system, your local dealer or a reputable shop should have it working in a matter of minutes, unless its an aftermarket radio, then there could be wprse problems.

Its most probably in LOCK mode..

its a anti theft device..and yes, the radio locks up..WHEN THE BATTERY IS CHANGED..or when battery power is lost (ie dead battery)..

check the owners manual, for the code, or ask the previous owner if he know s the code..or lastely...and i hate to say it...go to dealer..

hope this helps..

let me know

Battery may have a bad cell or a parasitic drain in the electrical system. Have you had the alternator and battery load tested ?

How to reset the codes in a 2001 Mitsubishi Monerto Sport

The PCM's have a keep alive memory built in them. When you cut power for an extended amount of time, this resets. It can cause a rough idle and rough run for a short time (which could be days or weeks). Depends on driving habits. It has to relearn. With a hand held computer to the car, it takes up to two hours of driving to reprogram. With out this, takes up to 30 days. It will get better as you go. If it doesn't after a week or so. Have it diagnosed...

I need to disconnect my battery in my 2005 GMC SIerra.....I do not have the code for my radio and I don't want to the radio when I am done working on my truck any ideas.

I'm not sure why you need to disconnect the battery but if it's to replace it you can connect another 12 volt battery to your truck with jumper cables or jumper wires. Connect the negative post to an engine ground and the positive to the positive jumper post. It's under a red plastic cover near the driver's side front of the engine. Just be aware that the positive battery cable is live and you'll have to be careful that it doesn't come into contact with a ground. That radio should have no code in it unless it's programmed by the owner. The default code is 4 zeros. If you bought the truck new and you didn't program a code into it you should be OK. Check the owner's manual. If you didn't buy the truck new and the previous owner programed a code into it your only chance is to get it from that owner.

What is the radio code for the 2002 Honda CRV. We just replaced a dead battery and now the radio does not work. Very Frustrating!

Three ways to get the code.
1.check the glove for the code, there might be a white sticker with the code on it.
2.with car on and radio off. hold down 1 and 6 on radio and turn radio on while holding down 1 and 6 down. If you're luck, the radio will show you the audio SN#. The first half of the SN# will be display first and the second half will be display next.
3.you will have to remove the radio. The SN# printed on a sticker on the radio.

call your honda dealer and give them the SN# and they will give you your audio code.
good luck

I brought this car from a private owner,my radio is not working at all. They told me to replace the fuse..isn't working, what should i do?

The radio is bad if the factory fuse is indeed good.... assuming all connections are intact. Check that all wires from the radio are hooked up.

Car won't start even after new battery purchase

Alternator problem, the alternator charges the battery when car is running, so it has probably died now. Was working at reduced capacity for a while, which is why you were only getting a partial charge for some time. Now you have an open circuit completely as alternator has failed completely, time for a visit to an auto electrician. PS replacing acid in battery with distilled water is not a good idea. It probably was time for a new battery anyway.
