Maybe your battery itself ALSO needs to be changed...

a lot of auto parts stores will check your battery for you, under a load, to see if it is DONE.

if youve run it done many many times, or its just old..(5 years give or take)..its probably DONE

check ur battery cables an connections for resistance causing a bad voltage drop upon starting.chek ur grounds at the blok for bad rusted connections and wiresthat are all corroded, peel insulation bak to inspect wires for corrosion

The clicking is the starter solenoid which is normal, the starter motor is not making a good contact due to it's worn, a starter replacement will fix the problem.

My 88 dodge aries floods out it seems when the outside temp falls below 30. it will run off of starting fluid but then dies. I checked mechanical and ignition timing, both were perfect.

Vehicle has a carburetor and you might want to make sure the choke is properly adjusted and not sticking.

map sensor located on firewall right side of vehicle..3 wire connector..small black sensor..with a vacuum hose leading to it..throttle position sensor on right side of throttle body unit..3 wire sensor..iac located on front of throttle body..4 wire sensor

High idle and shut off.

Check either the throttle position sensor, or idle air control valve. One or the other is the most likely culprit. Could also have a vacuum leak which will cause a high idle.
