Try replacing PCV valve. A stuck PCV valve cab cause high oil consumption - any good parts stores carry them and it's a cheap easy fix.

generaly oil burning will not cause the engine to seize, just the lack of oil ,if it burning it real fast you could run out of oil and then seize the engine, how much oil does it burn, the industry standard is 1 qt. per 1000 miles, if it using more than that it could be the rings on the piston, first has the engine oil been changed regular, if it has been then i would suspect that its not the rings and more like the valve guides and seals

Hi, I have an Touareg 2007 V10tdi 60.000km. The 'big service' was carried out like 15000km ago and now the oil lamp start to blink that I need to fill up the oil. The problem is, that I am out sea for...

15000kms is a lot of mileage and i would expect it to burn some oil in this period ,i would suggest that oil is changed every 6000kms with a oil filter every third oil change ,use the cheapest oil you can buy from supermarket for a petrol/turbo diesel engine and you will never have problems with the internal workings of the engine caused by clagging up of black hard carbon

TOOK MY 06' 55,6700 MILE EQ TO GET CHANGED. HE SAID THAT IT LOOKED LIKE MUD...AFTER ALMOST 4 YRS OLD IS IT CORRECT TO HAVE BUILD UP ON THE OIL CAP & THE "I GUESS" TUNNEL INTO THE OIL?

It could happen if you have not been changing the oil on a regular basis. If you bought the vehicle used, maybe the previous owner didn't believe in regular oil changes.

Transmission oil for toyota camry 1993

1993 Camrys take regular Dexron ATF. It should be changed every 30,000 miles. If you have never changed it, and it is over 100,000 miles, I would strongly suggest a professional "transmission-flush", with a designed specifically for flushing transmissions. To just drain the fluid at this point will leave roughly 3 quarts of dirty ATF in the system; a complete flush will eliminate ny dirty ATF traces.

2007 4 cylinder camry se is using or leaking oil I went to a heavier weight 10w-40 it seems to have slowed the oil consumption I now use synthetic 10w-40. Help!!!

Their  is a huge difference between leaking and using oil. place a large piece of carboard under the car one night and see if their is a lot of oil on the carboard the next moring. If so,  try to look under the car and see if you can tel where the oil is coming from. Have the leak fixed. It might be as simple as loose bolts.   If the engine is consuming oil because it has high mileage the use regular 10w40 or even  20w40 if you are in a warmer climate. If it is using oil you cannot afford to use the high priced synthetics. These are for relitively new cars .As it uses oil just replace it with the regular 20-w40 or 10w40. To slow down consumption use STP or MOTOR HONEY.or some other oil thickening agent on the market made for worn engines.

07 camry oil filter location v6

The oil filter is no longer a "spin-on" type filter. Toyota has changed to the "cartridge" type filters that are in a cylindrical housing on the engine. You need to remove the filter housing to access the cartridge. Make sure that you replace the o-rings that come out with the cartridge filter with the new ones supplied in the new filter box. To reset the light, follow these directions:

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine.

Look at the odometer, and verify that it displays "TRIP A". If it is on "ODO" or "Trip B", press the black stick next to the odometer to read "TRIP A".

Turn the key OFF.

Press in, and HOLD the black trip meter reset button, hold it IN.
DO not release it.

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine

Observe the Odometer display. You will see 5 dashes, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 dash, and finally, 5 zeros. Then, whatever number that was displayed on "TRIP A" will be re-displayed..

Now release the black trip meter reset stick.

This completes the reset procedure, and it will be back on in 5,000 miles, to remind you of you next oil change.
