Hi Lisa,is this noise louder when accelerating and turning the steering wheel? I would guess you have a worn out constant velocity joint.

It makes a noise when i turn it on, could it be the power steering, and if so how do i kno which power steering liquid to get?

By the year, make & model. Call auto parts store they'll tell you which DOT 1 OR 2 etc.. you need. Open reservoir being careful not to damage rubber diaphragm (don't use metal tools to pry off cap) , pour in proper fluid to level mark , replace cap , refasten retainer clip. Start car , play with steering wheel. Bada-bing Bada-boom.

I have a nissan maxima 2001 3.0 v6 in winter or cold time when the car is to cold the wheel gets to hard to turn and it makes a noise like something is stooping it many times. after the car gets warm...

Try flushing the Power Steering Fluid, with the correct new fluid for your type system. Check with the dealer for tech service bulletins and possible additives. If that doesn't help you probably have a worn out steering rack. I would bet on the worn rack.

Replaced front brake pads and also two studs Drivers side only, on 2001 nissan altima GLE . After driving about 20 to 30 miles the drivers side starts making a noise similar to a smog pump bearing noise ....

Well this is tricky. I have no idea what this could be except for the bearings. The reason I suspect this is because turning and braking will change the pressure you put on each wheel, so reducing or increasing pressure on that specific wheel could make a new noise.

Humming sound when driving

hi there sounds if your wheel bearing is shot best way to find out is drive your motor & if you can either turn steering left or right when driving you will find that humming noise will probably disappear if it does then its your wheel bearing.
