Question about Jeep Wrangler
The shutting down problem can be related to either your fuel pump or crank position sensor. The code you are seeing likely was not actually related to the problem but the coil may have been weak.
Right after it shuts off, turn the key back to the on position and check at the tank and see if you can hear the pump running. The pump won't generate a code but often when they begin to fail they get hot and bind, after cooling off they work 'till it gets hot again. If the pump runs, check the crank position sensor. Don't buy any parts without testing them. For around $20, you can get a haynes or chilton manual that lists values and tests you can do using a digital volt/ohm meter. Sometimes a scanner won't "see" a problem with that sensor, especially if testing is done when it is running and not in stalled mode.
Of course there are "oddball" causes like a poor ground (there are at least five grounds on the engine) or a slightly corroded harness pin or even cover screws on some computers that are a bit too long, but cover the basics first.
Always test with a fully charged battery and a charging system that is properly operating or no test results will be valid.
