I had this problem with my 2003 Alero right after I bought it 2 years ago. It went back to the dealer I got it from and I was told that there is a short in the airbag. In order to fix the issue the airbag would need to be replaced. They quoted me about $1500. I had a friend make me a horn....and it didn't cost $1500.

Oh, it's under the hood...I'm not sure which one but it's a black box.

I have 79 El Camino. Horn blows randomly while driving down the street. How do disconnect ot

You can unplug the horn/s. You could pull the horn fuse, pull the horn relay. Of course that isn't the proper fix, you may need the horn. The problem is usually the wiring in the steering column. I can't be positive, at the moment.

How do I disconnect the horn

You can pull the fuse, disconnect the horn relay, or unplug the horn itself.

Pop the hood and find the horn and remove the wire from the horn or you could remove the horn relay from the relay panel under the hood.

Horn keeps going off on it's own.

My horn is all set now. I took the steering wheel pad off and put electrical tape around the wires and put it back together. It has been fine sense. Thank God.

Alarm keeps going off

My uncle's Acura did the same thing one night. Pop the hood or wherever the fuse box is at and pull the fuse for the horn. Keep in mind if you pull the wrong plug, you car will be toast. And if you pull the fuse for the horn, it will lock the transmission/gears for safety reasons. So it's best if you just bite the bullet and have it towed. At your own risk.

My 02' mdx won't come out of park, keep blowing a 20 amp fuse. This fuse controls the Cruise, break lights, memory seat, horn and linkage. I have to manually delink. I have unhooked the comand...

Here is an idea, when do you blow the fuse key on, key on engine running, key on engine running hitting the break pedal? Try and get the key on without blowing fuse if possible, then one at a time try those circuit loads ie: horn, brake pedal and so on, if you isolate which load is pulling to many amps(blowing fuse) unplug that load itself, then restart testing, see if fuse stays ok. You can also substitue the fuse with a circuit breaker and unplug each load until click(of breaker) stops.

How do i disconnect the horn on a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. The horn goes off randomly and i need to just turn it off. I was told there are 2 horns on it? I just need the simplest way to disable them...

get your owners manual out of the glove box and look up "fuse panel". the fuse panel most likely will be in the console or beneath the dashboard. in the fuse panel will be little "plug in" boxes called relays. they are about an inch square. inside the lid of the panel and in the owners manual will be a legend of what is what. pull out the relay for the horns. now you have no horns. if you still have a horn but no turn signals you pulled the wrong little relay out.

My daughter dropped coins in my steering wheel and it is causing the horn to go off randomly. Can i disconnect the horn temporarily? it is a peugeot 407 se (05)

Yes. open your hood, look at front of vehicle, you will see the horn. Unplug the wire.
You may be able to pull the fuse, but check that no other accessories are ran on that circuit too

I have a vw 93 jetta how can I keep the horn from going off

I wouldn't recommend removing the fuse, Im not sure on that particular year but usually a fuse has multiple functions not just 1 function. I would find the horn location and just un plug it. But Im curious as to why the horn is going off. Is it the alarm? If it is, I would take the car to autozone and have them test the amp output on the alternator and maybe a load test on the battery....
