Can i use a ruler to measure gap on spark plug

If your can see the difference between .020 (20 thousands) and .025 (25 thousandths) of an inch than you may not need a gap tool.
A $3 spark plug gap tool is a must, you can get it at any auto parts store. Also if your spark plug is stuck in the socket, get a new socket and spark plug, but if you need it now take the socket wrench off the socket and place the socket in a vice. Then with the biggest screwdriver that will fit in the socket wrench hole, place the screw driver tip on the top of the spark plug stuck in the socket and hit the other end of the screw driver with a hammer until the spark plug comes out...... get a bigger hammer. note: the old spark plug may not survive.

There is a tool you can get on the internet or from
a tool supplier, to replace the front engine strut/
support, whatever it's called, you can look that up,&
it pulls the engine to the front,so you can sort of
get to the back plugs

Is a special tool required to change spark plugs in the 3.2L engine?

you will need 5/8 spark plug socket as well as a long extension to replace spark plugs. That you can get at local auto part stores.Plugs are on either rocker cover....there are 3 ign coils on each rocker cover that need to be removed then remove the plugs You will need a 5/8 spark plug socket as well as a long extension to replace them 8mm socket holds the individual coils on.
------------ ON 3.2L there are acually no spark plug wires, the engine acually has whats called, coil over plug which means the the power to make a spark plug spark, happens right over your spark plug. Now in order to get to the spark plugs which are under the coils you have to first unscrew the screws, there'll be two phillips head screws per coil, after that just pull the coil out, it should be about 3 inches, the spark plugs are at the bottom of the hole that you just uncoverd, you'll need an extesion for your socket in order to reach them, take them out, replace, put the coil back on top making sure that its seated ontop of the spark plug, put the two screws back in, tighten and your done with one, continue for all.
---------------- this should help.thanks.Helpmech.

SPARK PLUG CHANGE 98 volkswagen jetta gl

you will need the tool made for pulling the boots off but then all you need is a 3/8 rachet ,about a foot long extension, a universal , then probably 13/16 spark plug socket <could be peanut plug depending on the manifaturer of the plugs> I recomend using bosch or ngk plugs. intake removeal is not needed ....will clear all plugs with intake on but may need to unplug a couple injectors for clearance but don't forget to plug them back in

Need to change sparkplugs on a Nissan Maxima

Tools : Socket Wrench
Socket Wrench Extentions
Sparkplug Wrench Attachment
8mm Socket
12mm Deep Socket
4mm Hex Tool
Phillips Screwdriver (Optional)
A Bowl(cereal bowl)*to keep all the screws and washers or anything small from going to far from you A box top(from a paper box or file box)*keep coil packs away from dirt or anything to dirty them

For a Maxima 4th Gen (95-99) i personally, and it is recommended, use NGK' Spark Plugs. Could go to your autozone/kregans/Napa etc to get them. BKR5EIX-11 you can use those its a bit pricey but they last a little longer and a bit of better spark. If not BKR5EGP will work okay to. You really don't want to use cheaper ones because of faster waste on spark plugs. Get also some additive for the spark plugs so they don't stick. you can ask them at the auto part store to show you it or if they have a small kinda sample bag. Once you get ready and your car is not hot anymore your going to pop of the lid where it says Nissan V6 3000etc. it comes off with the hex 4mm tool. Under there you will find 3 of the coil packs. your going to need the 8mm to take it off. Be sure to be real careful with the removal of them because they are not sensitive but they will cost you a pretty penny if you do loose them. Make sure you keep them in the same order you took them off (for example 1 the one to the right, keep the coil pack on the right so it is put back in the same spot.) Then after the removal get a flash light and see if any rubbers came of from the coil pack or if there is anything possibly stuck there. If there is get a metal hanger bend it and shape to take off if needed a "bootleg" tool. Once the coil pack is off and its clear take the socket wrench and the extension, should be a really long one i forgot exactly the size but should be at least a foot long, and attach the right size spark plug socket, when searching for the socket at the auto part store just when the spark plug is given take it and go to the location of tools and figure the right size(i recommend the ones called spark plug socket because they have a magnet so it wont loosen up or a type of rubber to keep it snug), then slowly take out the spark plug. Repeat for those 3 and put back in, after also putting the application for the spark plug, and make sure they are tight but not as tight as if you do not want to remove them, then put back to cover then onto the next 3. Max sure you put all the screws on and etc. the next 3 are found in the far back part of the engine. They are not the 3 that are close to the cover you removed. Do the same steps and make sure you don't lose screws or anything that will end up making you look for at night.
