If you have fuel, Pump up the fuel system until it feels hard with pressure, Then, attempt to start. If it won't light, More than likely your fuel solenoid has failed. Verify the fuse is good before all else. Diesels do not need power for anything but cranking and the fuel solenoid. Yup, that simple. Make sure no gas was put in by mistake. Good Luck _Ned_ Note! If he solenoid is bad the only remedy may be to replace said solenoid, but first ck for a bypass or what is called a manual screw.

Your hand pump doesn't supply enough continuous pressre to feed fuel throgh the injectors. You probably need to replace the fuel pump or maybe something as simple asthe pressure regulator

if this is a common rail diesel then the pump will not be producing sufficient pressure to operate the injectors. There will be fuel at the injectors but not the required pressure (20.000 +psi )
if it is a in-line pump or rotary pump there may be a problem with the pump timing

Ford transit

It wont start unless you do something we call bleed. There is a small screw on the side of the injector pump you have to pull those and pump the lift pump/fuel pump untill all the air leaves the pump the close them and start.

Have transit 2.5 derv i let it run out of fuel put fuel back in and opened injectors and still wont start.

does it have a hand primer on the fuel filter housing
plus the filter is probably empty / also make sure you put at least 3 gallons of derv when in run out situation
also you need to give more info like the year of vehicle as the new ones are common rail diesels and you should not slacken injector feed pipes

sorry for my bad english, i will try it: check the fuel system for external and INTERNAL leaks. it is likely that a pipe or valve is not seal and the diesel flows back, so you have air in the fuel line wich the starter need to und until engine starts. If it is possible place a transparent plastik pipe as fuel line at the pump. 10 cm will be enough. then you can see if there are bubbles of air

Perkins is a hard engine to prime. Fill the fuel filter with clean diesel, there should be a hand pump on the left side(looking at the front of the vehicle) . There should be a bleed screw on top of the filter housing. Loosen the bleed srew and pump the hand pump untill you get a steady stream of fuel from it. Tighten the bleed screw. Loosen the injector bonnet nuts approximately 1 1/2 turns on all of the injectors. Turn the engine over until you see a steady stream of fuel from the the injector bonnets. Tighten the bonnet nuts, pump the handpump approx 10 times and start the engine. Give it half throttle until it stops stumbling and all of the air is worked out of the system.

Where are the fuel injectors on a 2003 2.0 ford transit diesel ran out of fuel have added fuel but won't start on ignition have been advised by a mechanic to bump start vehicle then crack open the...

The age of this transit should be a self bleeding system. But if not, you will see some metal tubes running into the cylinder head, with nuts at the end. Loosen these and crank the engine over until fuel spurts through. You will only need to do 2 or 3 to get the engine started.
I have personally used a damp start spray, in the air inlet to fire up diesel trucks before and not needed to bleed the system at all. Worth a try, just open up the air filter and squirt some into the inlet, crank it over and it should start.
