Question about 2006 Ford Focus
Sounds like you did'nt get the jump start right and you blem a fuse or ruiened this system. even connecting the jumper cables for a split second is long enough to ruine this sensitive device. check fuses first and then power at the plug that connected to the navi unit first, There should be three hot wires with the key and the lights on and one wire hot with everything turned off. To check fuses and hot wires use a test light ( a tool that looks like an ice pick that has a wire ( to be grounded) and a clear handle that has a light bulb in it) as you touch the probe to a hot wire the light will light so you can ( see) a hot wire. All of these hot wires have their own fuses so you may have to go though the fuse panal with the test light with the key on with the test light to ( see) that the fuses are live and functioning. When testing a fuse the backs of them have a medal place on each end of the plastic touching these ends with the light and the light sould light. if it only lights on one end then the fuse is blown and needs to be replaced.
