SOURCE: Recommended Brand and Grade of Engine Oil for Toyota 4K Engine

If you use a Toyota 4K engine, most manufacturers both engine and oil companies recommend a 20W-50 GRADE motor oil. We recommend Castrol. However, Castrol is kinda expensive. Try Petron Philippines products that can be purchased at their gasoline station shops. Castrol ranges from 800-850 (4-liters) while Petron oil products ranges from 490-550 only (4 liters). They both share the same addtives for 20W-50 oil grade.

I'm sorry I don't think I can help you with your Corolla looks like mid 70's. I own an 85 Toyota truck and a few other Toyotas plus I have worked on a lot of things over the years. Although you might be able to find your diagram through this page -> http://www.toyota.com/owners/web/pages/resources/owners-manuals. At least they may be able to head you in the right direction. Good luck finding you vacuum diagram.

The car didn't start without a jump, first time: then it wouldn't go over 20 and seemed to have a mind of it's own.

I would like to ajust voltage regulator but cant find it

Pretty sure the voltage regulator is INSIDE the alternator, and you CANNOT adjust it.
If it is putting out TOO much voltage, you could tear down the alternator and repair it, but it is easier to just put a re-manufactured one on it.

Your output voltage from the alt. should be between 13.75 to 14.75. If not, or if it 'jumps' alot, then replace the alternator.
test the battery voltage with a voltmeter with the engine off, then with it on. Battery should test 12 V. + if it is fully charged.

If the alternator is plugged up it blows a fuse in fuse panel. Also turn signals

alternators have built-in voltage regulators. if the voltage regulator goes bad, it could over-volt, resulting in blown fuses or blowing the cap off the battery. you can use a voltometer/multitester to test the power at the battery. a running engine should put out about 14-15 volts (14.6 is quite average) at the battery terminals. if your voltage is higher, the alternator needs replaced.

Where is locotated the voltage regulator in 2004 Toyota Highlander. I want to replace the voltage regulator in my 2005 Toyota highlander and I don't know how I can locate it.

the voltage regulator on this along with most newer vehicles is located inside of the alternator. this is not replaceable as it is internal unless you get an alternator rebuild kit. if helpful please leave positive rating.
