How do I check gear oil on 1999 nissian frontier 4 cylinder it's standard.

On stick shift trans there's a plug on the side of the trans for put the oil in. Pull that plug, stick your finger in the hole and bend it down at the knuckle. If you get oil on your finer, it's good. If no oil on the finger, put oil in till it starts coming out the hole, put the plug back in and your good.

Two questions. Manual transmission, does it use synchromesh? Second... How do I get the codes? Is there a plug?

All manual trans do have synchro, yes. Synchromesh trans fluid is merely another name for high performance synthetic manual trans oil. Ordinary gear oil (not extreme pressure diff oil tho) is used by many many transmissions, yes, and probably won't harm your trans, but it is always best to use the maker's recommended grade, so maybe you'll be changing it out.

What kind of gear oil do i put in the transfer case in my 1989 350 big bear?

in 89 it took dextron 2 for auotomatic trans and 85-90 w gear oil for manual trans.......if you want your older manual transmissions to shift better go to a synthetic and alot of times the syncros will work better.

My 2003 cadillac cts automatic transmission will not change gears pulls off slowly but will reach high speed

please do not have your transmission flushed , have someone take the oil pan off and replace the filter as well and what ever trans oil you take out replace it as well . no automotive repair shop will warrenty your trans if it should suddenly stop working , but just for your satisfaction ask the transmission repair shop who flushs trans if they guarantee it and have them put it in writing . ive never understood why flush dirty oil and leave the dirty filter in the trans , it collected all dirt and metal wear which is what is causing it to plug up causing it to restrict the oil flow

Auto Transmission problem: Feels like it doesnt shift into OD and accelerates slow as if it stays in one gear. When put in 1st, it feels like the park brake is up of you're riding the brakes.

have you check the oil level on trans and have you change the oil on the engine lately check the levels on both. Usually on engine is too much oil car drags and on trans if low oil it usually stays in gear to protect the trans. your car is telling you check oil. No lubrication some warning lights do not come up for trans

The automatic trans. uses ATF trans. fluid . The manual uses gear oil. The spout to check the oil is located on the side of the trans. right behind the radiator.
