This is a very complex job that should probably be done by a professional. If you really want to do it yourself, I would highly recommend buying a proper manual. The water pump is driven by the timing belt which is underneath the plastic front cover of the engine. To change the pump, you'll have to remove the front (right side) motor mount bracket, the power steering pump, the plastic timing belt cover, the timing belt and tensioner, then the pump, which is mounted to a housing that is held on to a tube that runs under the intake manifold. Quite often the bolts are rusted to the water pump housing and some care is required when separating and replacing the pump and housing.

Is there somewhere i can find pictures of the motor of my 1994 dodge caravan

If it is coming from the front it is likely the water pump. Have a shop hook up a cooling system pressure checker, then they can see the source.

1994 dodge caravan was making a noise in the area of the serpentine belt....the belt has since broke..what noise like a gear grinding would be associated with this?

Could be bad bearings in the belt tensioner pulley, bad bearings in the water pump, bad bearings in the alternator (though that would tend to squeal unless they're really trashed) or bad bearings in the power steering pump.  Get a wrench on each one and see which one won't turn.

I have a 1994 Dodge Caravan, 4 cyl. I installed a new thermostat but still no heat

I had a grand caravan that did the same, and it would not heat until I added the antifreeze. It sounds funny, but I hear, that the water turns to steam at the top, and does not circulate well without antifreeze/antiboil.
