2003 was a bad year for starter relays, my first one failed at 205 miles, that's right 205. My brother had his fail at 3700 miles. I suggest you start there.

Hi Jennifer, I believe that it purely coincidence that this problem started when your dad drove the car. There is basically nothing he could have done to promote the problem. I believe the fault has something to do with the anti theft device becoming active. If you can manage to have the car diagnostically scanned and the key encodement re activated I'm thinking that will sort out the problem. Even if that is not the problem the diagnostic scan will pin point where the problem is. Regards John
