The linkage between the lock cylinder and the lock assembly has broken or simply come loose because of a broken or faulty retaining clip.

Most car alarm and stereo installers may be able to help you. I took apart the driver's door lock on one vehicle, removed the tumblers and reassembled it but eventually someone messed with it and I was stuck

MY SCION XA PASSENGER DOOR WONT UNLOCK WITH KEY,ONLY THE DRIVERSIDE

try using a little graphite in the keyhole. If key turns and does nothing, may have a bad lock mechanism or a rod had fallen off inside. See that the lock turns freely. Don't force. Door will unlock from inside and still have a bad lock mechanism.

There is a clicking noise in the driverside door hinge

It is most likely a loose hinge bolt that allows the hinges to move around when the door is opened.

Disconnected the battery and alarm comes on Do not have the imm anymore Car wont start

try this lock all doors and then with the key in the driverside door turn the key twice so that all the doors unlock ( if you turn the key only once only the drivers door will unlock turn it twice and all doors should unlock ) this should also reset the anti-theft system as well. you need to get a new key flob it would save you allot or problems the key flob is used by mechanics to test serveral systems in the car, so spend a little money and get it replaced......good luck

Remote won't unlock car. Not sure if it's frozen or battery dead. Drivers door won't unlock with key - it just spins around. there is no passenger lock. There is no key slot on trunk. I thought those...

There should be a key slot in the trunk emblem, or the emblem will spin to reveal it. If the key just spins it needs a new door lock cylinder. You can see my previous solutions for how to remove it.

I changed my battery and when i did, the antitheft just started making my lights go on and off, and i try to crank it but its like im not getting power to the engine!

the anti theft is working! try manually locking your doors, then wait 15 minutes, unlock the doors with key, the last door you should lock is drivers. lock all doors from inside but drivers, when you shut drivers door, lock it from outside with the key.leave it alone for about 15 minutes please! when you unlock it with the key, if the alarm goes off, disconnect the battery for 10mins. then start over, just remember to lock the driverside door from outside this time with the key!!!

Power locks work inside but key wont turn outside

A rubber boot around the lock motor can disintegrate and get caught up in the motor gear or if the link age assembly to the motor gear has been fixed with epoxy glue ( allowing no free play) then these symptoms can develope which allows the automatic door locks to work but very stubborn almost impossible to open manually.

Ford Escort Alarm - Annoying Problem!

it seems that the contact circuit in the driverside door is the problem, it's obviously not the alarm itself others wise the same thing would occure on the passengerside. you have to remove the door panel on the driverside and inspect the wires in that circuit for corrosion which would cause no current to pass between the by pass switch the arms or disarms the alarm. please rate this
