If you look at http//:www.bluejag.co.uk you will find details and photographs re changing the rear brakes.
Essentually all you do is sqeeze the moving half of the handbrake cable activator on the rear of the caliper against the fixed half and you should be able to pop the cable out of its locator. Then remove the circlip around the outer sleve and the cable should be free.

Where does the pink praking brake wire go on 2003 cadillac deville go

Where are you seeing this pink wire ? I'm looking at a wiring diagram and I see a pink wire at the (RIM) rear integration module . It goes to the park brake relay A ,control side . The RIM supply's a ground on that circuit energizing the park brake relay A . There is another park brake relay - B . Are you familiar with the RIM module .
The park brake system is a mechanical and electrical system which operates on the rear disc brakes. The system is activated by depressing a foot pedal lever assembly, which sets the rear brake caliper via cables. The park brake is released by shifting the vehicle out of park or activating the manual release.

Park Brake Release
The rear integration module (RIM) controls the operation of the electric release park brake. The RIM uses serial data messages to determine if the correct conditions exist to release the park brake. The park brake is released under the following conditions:
• The engine is ON.
• The gear shift lever is not in Park or Neutral.
• The park brake switch is closed.
When all of the above conditions exist, the RIM releases the park brake by simultaneously activating the 2 park brake solenoids. After 2 seconds, the RIM deactivates solenoid A. The RIM continues to activate solenoid B while the above conditions exist, which prevents the park brake from being set.

Hello. Press and hold the button on the brake parking release handle and at the same time, pull up the handle hard untill you hear a click sound, that means the brake will be released. If you don't have the strength to do that, ask someone to help.

Hummer H3 airbag light wont go off

Airbag light on in a Hummer H3 Dashboard???Here is the fix...
Start the engine of your car, set the parking brake, hold the regular brake pedal down with your right foot. Push down the parking brakepedal to its fully-applied position with your left foot. Now while you are still holding the regular brake pedal down. Quickly release the parking brake, Pull the bottom edge of the lever, located above the parking brake pedal, with the parking brake
symbol, directly rearward to release the parking brake. Make sure pedal snaps hard all the way back releasing the parking brake... If this doesn't work the first try, try it 3-5 times and it shall work... The airbag light will go off...

NOTE: The parking brake pedal is located to the left of the regular brake pedal, near the driver's door.
&

The parking brake lever is located above the parking brake pedal, with the parking brake symbol.

Emergency break cable broke on 2004 silverado

I had the same problem on my 2003. Open the driver door all the way. Get on your knees just outside the door. Follow the plastic tub that holds the parking brake release cable inside the truck. Start from the release lever and follow to the end of the tube. There will be a metal lever that the cable was attached to before it broke. You have to pull that lever with your hand to release the parking brake. Very Important!!!...Hold the parking brake activation pedal with your other hand when you release the brake. Let the pedal out slowly when you pull the metal release lever. The pedal will come back very fast and you could injure yourself if you are not careful. Good luck!

  • The parking brake release vacuum hose which connects the parking brake release control motor to the engine manifold through a vacuum release switch at the steering column tube (3514) .
  • The parking brake release control motor which is actuated to release the parking brake whenever the engine is running and the transmission is in a forward-driving gear.
  • The automatic parking brake control which has a manual release feature that releases the foot parking brake control by applying force to the parking brake control pedal in the "apply" direction to the point of initial application.
  • The parking brake control will return to the full-release position after removing the force.
