Question about 2007 Chevrolet Equinox LS New Cars

Open Question

I have a 2007 chevy equinox LS. My battery keeps draining down. I have no after market parts on the car. I had autozone test the battery and alternator. They both tested fine. I went ahead and replaced the battery but that didn't help. We have not been leaving the lights on or doors open. Have you heard of this problem before and do you have any ideas for me?

SOURCE: possible voltage regulator problem on alternator

Disconnect the battery, disconnect the red wire on the alternator stud, disconnect the (2) wire connector on the alternator. Reconnect the battery, turn the ignition to the run position, check both red wires and the brown at the alternator and make sure there is voltage on all wires.
Per your description, I believe you will not have voltage on one or both of the large red wires.
Let me know.

SOURCE: randome misfire on all cylinders only under load

Try putting in bosch spark plugs with the 3 electrodes ,might help .As for the code reading well i wouldnt trust that because as its a new car then the chances are its encrypted software so the code you have will not be right. If the plugs do not cure it then its dealer only and i wouldnt be surprised if it didnt end up with a new ECU unit

Parts and labor catalytic converter 2011 Chevy equinox

There is a federal warranty of 5 years on all catalytic converters. It should not cost you anything to have it replaced. You stated that it was a 2007 and then a 2011, which year is it? If it is a 2007, you are almost outside of the federal warranty.

2005 chevy equinox changed battery and alternator and still drains battery the next day or two

First are you sure the alternator is charging the battery ?
If it is, someone will need to pull fuses and disconnect major circuits until you find the drain. It could be a simple relay, or a short to ground in the harness somewhere.

Electrical Issues/Battery Dying

I haven't heard about problems like that other than in a flood damaged vehicle.Did you buy it new?
To check for a battery drain yourself, disconnect the battery large cable and place a 12 volt test light between the cable and the battery positive. If you see a bright light on the test light you do have a vehicle drain,if it's dim don't worry about it.Now,if the light is bright pull one fuse at a time until the light goes dim, this will be the circuit draining and you can now trouble shoot that circuit.Don't cause a bright light by opening a door or turning on the key.DO NOT TRY AND START THE VEHICLE while the test light is hooked up.

I put a new battery in my chev equinox 2 weeks ago seemed ok if I drove it every day, but if I leave it a day its completely dead, alt is charging at 14.7 volts, the only thing on is the security light on...

You need to make sure that your getting good conection to your battery. If your alternator is fine, as you stated, you might not be getting a good conection. Your alternator may be keeping your battery alive just enough when your driving. Check all connections. Hope this helps.
