Do you have power but key wont engage starter? double check your wire hook ups, and make sure you have the ignition wire to selonoid connected and tight.

Battery good? enough amps. did you put all the wires on the starter.ground wire also.
if turns over then starter good, if not, bad starter/sylenoid or connection.
check to see if you are getting fuel , depending if carb just mesh on trottle to see gas poured in, if fuel injected there should be like a valve(like the one on the coolant line where one put freon in, press to see if pressure comes out. check spark to see if it is getting fire. all the above check out then it may well be computer might be bad.

1998 chevy asto van wont crank or turn over

Turn the headlights on and watch them while the key is turned to start. If the lights go out, one of your cables or connections at battery or starter is not good. If lights dim a lot but stay on, possibly a bad starter, it needs testing. If lights aren't affected by cranking position, turn lights off, pull the small wire off the starter solenoid, hook up a test light to ground and to the solenoid wire. Light should come on when key is held in crank. If it does, likely a bad starter solenoid. If no light, then the start circuit from ignition switch to starter solenoid is not working. Check for power out of ignition switch on the start wire with key in crank, to begin with. If powered, switch is good, need to check if neutral safety switch is good, and then check or swap in a new starter relay.
Post back with any results.
Good luck.

1997 Nissan Quest wont start

If you tried jumping it and it still doesn't start, then it's not your battery. There may be a problem with the solenoid/starter. Try tapping the starter a few times with a metal object (tire wrench or something), but not too hard. Then try starting it again.
