Question about 2004 Subaru Impreza

1 Answer

2004 Impreza. Tail lights.

I have a 2004 Impreza. Recently, I noticed that the tail lights and rear plate lighthad failed to go out. I had stopped the engine and turned all lights off- but they stayed on. The only way I can get them to go out , is to pull the fuse, so I don't drain the battery. It is inconvenient to have to do this, imagine !!

there is a parking light switch on top of the steering column that is normally where the hazards are but on this car the hazards are on the dash. You could have accidentally hit the parking light switch

I need a fuse box diagram for 1995 subaru impreze

Just pull the fuses until you find the one which has blown.

Just as a precaution by the way, these past five years or so I have noticed a lot of these models with the same rear tail light issue. On many of them it's the actual contacts in the bulb housing which have failed. The plastic shroud around the bulb goes brittle over time and made worse with the heat. The casing distorts and allows the base positive contact to sink lower in the housing, thus causing a break in the connection to the bulb. I have repaired a few of these by soldering a blob of solder onto the centre bulb connector, thus raising it and allowing it to contact the bulb again. This is really just a temporary measure however as this repair may fail over time.

Good luck.

Fitting single towbar electrics, Hyundai Coupe 2.0 2004 (Tiburon)

Hi There. Im not sure where you are but this is the sequence for the UK< Hope it helps.
here are the 7 cable locations and pin numbers.
Pin 1 Yellow L/H Direction Indicator
Pin 2 Blue Rear Fog Lamps
Pin 3 White Earth Return
Pin 4 Green R/H Direction Indicator
Pin 5 Brown R/H Tail & No, Plate Light
Pin 6 Red Stop Lamps
Pin 7 Black L/H Tail & No, Plate Lights

I found the easiest way to locate the correct wires in the loom is to turn on the lights required and use a circuit tester and splice into the main loom where you have enough wire to play with. Try not to cut the loom as it only causes more problems with bad connections and joins.(
Good Luck
