Hi!!
Below are some tightening sequence diags. for the 3.0L engine, the first two are for the OHV and the last two are for the DOHC. The bolts should be tightened in two steps.
ON THE OHV UPPER MANIFOLD, USE A CRIS CROSS PATTERN for the five bolts and one stud.

The sequence of tightening is to start in middle then go to opposite side then continue in a cross x pattern. I always torque my first pass at 50% torque then proceed in same tightening order to final torque. DO NOT torque to full torque on first pass.

Car wont fire up, just an occasional pop!

YES! if it pops back through the intake, you have either 1 or more intake valves too tight. If its not throught the intake, then check the exhaust valves. One trick to check the exhaust valves is to place a dollar bill over your exhaust, it should ALWAYS flap back away from the exhaust pipe. If at anytime the bill sucks up into the exhaust, then you do have an exhaust valve too tight. Its kinda like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAgpZndF9aM

Hi, got a 1999 pontiac grand prix se, and installing an aftermarket intake, there is a pvc fitting on the intake, yet on the oem intake there wasnt a pvc hose/fitting, where to connect the pvc hose from...

Aftermarket manifolds have fittings for several engine years. If the new manifold has a fitting port that is unneeded, use a pipe plug of the correct size with a wrap of Teflon plumbing tape on it and block it off.
Do not over tighten the plug or you can damage the manifold. "just tight" is tight enough.

Coolant in # 1 cylnder\clean intake port of intake manifold

Check the lower intake gasket again the new gaskets that are being use made out of plastic with rubber port seals sometimes don't seal right I still used gasket sealer with the new plastic gasket even if it has rubber seals. MY 4.2 v6 had that problem but I went ahead and replaced the head gaskets also just to cover all the bases. And my F-150 has 210,000 miles on it. Make sure you tight the bolts I know it probably calls for something like 8 ft lbs which to me is not tight enough. Double it.
