Question about Nissan Juke

1 Answer

2011 Nissan Juke. Replaced parking light bulb. Now no parking lights work. Checked fuses and all seem good. What would cause this?

Did disconnect neg terminal. before installing bulbs. Juke fuse panels don't say illum/Parking or anything. Tested every fuse in the panel and under hood. Unless there is a third panel somewhere. Continuity good between front and rear parking light wiring. disconnected battery to possibly reset BCM. Did not work. Any further advice?

Yes, Finally after scouring the internet, I found that there is a fourth fuse panel not mentioned in owners manual or nissan forums. It is a half fuse panel and half wiring matrix. It is accessible only if you take the intake manifold off. Once the intake is off you have to pry the panels four clips. Then turn it upside down and there you will find wiring matrix connectors and 9-12 fuses. They are labeled RH position and LH position. I'm not sure why there are two fuses for position lights, since if one blows both sides are affected.

Hi there, first i need to know if you disconnected the battery before you changed the light bulb. Anytime you need to work on anything electrical in your car you need to disconnect the negative terminal because of the high voltage currents in todays new cars. Double check the fuse because that is really one of the only things that would prevent the rest of the lights from working. There is a small and unlikely chance that you shorted the circuit and burned the parking light filiments in all of the bulbs.

Did you use the diagram on the fuse panel cover to determine the correct fuse? Those things can get a little trick and it is possible to read them upside down.

Let me know what you find and post back.

Ok I am glad to hear that you took the right steps before starting the work. I am sorry if I sounded accusatory in my above comment, it's just that a lot of the people i talk to on hear have almost no experience working on a modern car. Unfortunately i have never worked on a Juke but imagine that it would be like any other modern vehicle. It could possibly be a short in the selector switch that activates the running/ parking lights. Some switches have internal fuses integrated into their deisgn for redundancy. Also as a last resort, since your car is really new you should have a warranty. If you dont see any damaged that could have accidentally been cause when changing the bulb, there is a chance that the dealership wont see it either and you could pass it off as a manufacturer defect. Which there is a good possibility that that is what it could be. You may have done nothing wrong at all and it may be faulty from the factory. Let me know what you think as soon as you can. It is 3am where I live and i dont know how much longer i can stay awake :)

My 89 nissan d21 brakelights went out and when i push down the pedal my dash lights come on

Hi, if you didnt fix it yet I'll tell you what could cause the dash lights to come on while pressing on the brake pedal, and that is checking the bulbs AND putting the wrong one in the wrong hole, IE putting the back-up bulb in a brake/parking light socket . The single lead on the center of the back-up bulb shorts the double contacts on the brake/park light socket so the electricity just flows through the one tip of the bulb connecting the two contacts in the socket since the park and dash lights are on the same circuit the dash lights will be energized, hope that makes sense as it happened to me with a 66 mustang. Good luck!!

Ensure the ground connection is ok at the tail light bulb socket/s.
Check +12V is present at the bulb socket (when the park lights are on) - use a multimeter or small indicator light.
