Car sometimes will not start. Acts like the battery is bad or weak but it isn't. Alternator is good. Seems to happen when it is damp or wet outside. Bad voltage regulator or ground?

What do you mean by, "then it burns up alternator" ?

It is common for people to replace their battery assuming its bad when actually it is an alternator issue all along. A weak or dead alternator will make the car run off the battery until the battery is too weak to either keep the car running or start the car again after you shut it off. Have you taken the vehicle to an auto parts store that will test your Alternator, Battery and Starter motor for you with their test computer? Many offer this service for free and it only takes a few minutes. Another issue could be the battery cables and or their attachment points. Sometimes cleaning of the battery terminals works and other times the corrosion has actually seep inside the stranded wire battery cables and reduce their ability to carry the needed amperage. When that happens replacing the cables is the best bet.

Slow cranking and computer resets like the battery has been pulled

Are you certain that the battery is good? Make sure that there's nothing in the car that's drawing additional power, such as leaving the headlights or radio or other accessories on when the engine is not running.

If everything else seems good, then it's possible that the alternator has gone bad. The alternator is what charges the battery while the engine is running, and if the battery isn't charging that could be why it gets weak. Your car is a 2010 car though, still quite new, so it's unlikely that the alternator goes bad this quickly. If your car is still covered under warranty, you might want to take this in for a mechanic to check.

Car won't start, seems to have power, all lights working. when I turn the key nothing happens. this only happens sometimes

Could be a bad alternator.. It may not be holding charge. Or your starter could have failed.

Though I've had the same problem and it was a dead battery in my vehicle. Had enough power, but to keep the car on..

Car wont start, seems like battery went dead

If the car doesn't start with a jump you might have a bad alternator. The alternator supplies voltage to the car once the engine is running. If the battery is dead, and the alternator isn't putting out sufficient voltage, the engine cannot run. Then again sometimes a car with an extremely dead or internally shorted battery WON'T start with a jump. Replace the battery and try again.

you have to have 12.4 volts showing on your battery to even attempt to start your car,, you need to completely charge the battery , ( if you have a walmart near you, they will not only charge it for you, but they run a Load test , which tells how the battery holds up under a Load , such as when trying to start the vehicle,, ) I would venture to say that you have a bad battery ,, it only take one bad cell to make it pretty much worthless, Plus the alternator is being over worked trying to charge it as it runs the car for you after starting,, ( note, never disconnect the battery when the car is running to check to see if the alternator is working, that will result in bad problems , such as computer stoppage) once your sure you have a fully charged, good battery in place, use a volt meter to check ,, start the vehicle and place the meter probe's on the battery terminals,, you should get a reading of no less than 13.5 volts, and should see that up to 14.5 volts on the meter, if you do the alternator is doing its job.

My 2003 sante fe lost power while driving. Acts like a car with a bad alternator, however, after charging the battery it still acts the same. Now will struggle to go more than a few blocks before losing...

Sounds like the alternator is bad. You can take it to Advanced Auto Parts or Autozone, and they will test both the alternator and battery for FREE. If the battery was bad, the car usually won't turn off once started because the car will be running off the alternator. Not to say I havn't seen a battery do that, but it is rare. To me it is the alternator. Plus, Autozone or Advance Auto will have your alternator in stock.

My 99 Nissan Maxima wont start with out a jump?

It could be that your battery is weak or the alternator went bad and caused the battery to die. Most autoparts stores will test your battery and sometimes the alternator for free if you can drive your car there.
If not, you can jump the car, and undo the battery cables. If the vehicle stays on you will at least know that the alternator is good and the battery is weak.

Car wont start

90% of no starts conditions are due to weak battery. Find out cold cranking amps (CCA) the vehicle needs , and purchase one with those specs and the same type of post( top or side) and approx physical condition as the old battery. Make sure battery terminals are clean and wires behind alternator are in good condition (no corrision).
