1998 FORD F150 ALARM

MY ALARM IN MY TRUCK GOES OFF WHEN I DRIVE IT. I TRIED RESETTING IT BUT THAT DIDNT WORK. HOW CAN I FIX THIS PROBLEM, OR DISCONNECT IT ALL TOGETHER? I BELIEVE IT IS A AFTER MARKET ALARM. I DID THE ON OFF THING WITH THE IGNITION 8 TIMES AND IT STILL WOULD NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. IS THERE A MAIN WIRE I CAN DISCONNECT THAT WILL JUST ELIMINATE THE ALARM ALTOGETHER? OK, THANKS FOR YOU TIME.

How many miles do miles have to drive to reset my ford f150 computer

Hello,

Assuming the problems have been fixed it can take a few minutes to a few days depending on the drive time. The computer will eventually relearn everything. The PCM will adapt to your driving habits. It can take a while sometimes. Give it a week or so.

You have to drive the vehicle after the codes have been reset to let the monitors do their tests....If every test ok it will pass inspection....Its usually about 75 miles.....

I believe there is a NTHSA bulletin on this problem. You can go to the NTHSA website and look it up. Usually this type of noise is the injector or valve train.

Panic alarm going off intermittently

I had the same problem on my 1997 F-150. It was an Aftermarket Alarm. (Varmit) The problem is that the Mercury switch is failing inside the alarm box, underdash. Lightning will set it off. The Fix;
Take the truck to an any aftermarket alarm seller and replace only
"THE BOX". No other parts need replacement. Don't let them sell you anything else. Should be approx. $100.00 at the most.
