2 Answers

I've had my car for a year and now when i go to start my car it seems like it doesn't want to start, so i wait and then start it again. Sometimes I have to do that twice before it actually starts. what do you think the problem is? Thanks.

Thank you, I'll take your suggestions to the dealer. I have an appt for Sat. My new problem, which I just encountered, my key won't come out of the ignition. It's stuck, how can that happen, why would that happen. Thanks again.

Inserted key and turned to start. No result. No dash lights. No time display. No overhead light with door ajar. Measured battery at 12.66 volts. Why?

There's a small plastic casing below the dashboard that houses the starter. When you depress the clutch, the pressure goes to the casing, and can crack or break it. If that happens, (and it's happened twice to my daughter), you won't be able to start your car. It's a flaw in the design over a part that costs about 50 cents!

All other cars like the FIT have metal casings, but not Nissan! To top it off, Nissan has a huge coverup going on here. The dealerships dismiss the problem as a safety issue and refuse to acknowledge it. They even refuse to give me the name of the part.

Hi, first verify you have ignition spark and good fuel pressure. Then verify all scheduled maintenance has been performed-spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter ect....Also verify you have good compression...Do diagnostics on the computer and sensors....Good Luck!!!!

From what i've seen over the years with the Chryslers i've encountered. Your describing to the "T" what appears to be a bad Crank Sensor. I will bet money that if you replace the crank sensor it will solve your problem. BUT...Also know that a bad fuel pump can do exactly what you describe in your statement. Once the pump get hot it gets to acting stupid, but yet again so can the Crank Sensor. Still, my money is on the Crank Sensor.
