Question about Cadillac Brougham

Open Question

Using an MVP Portable Power Station model I-6550 to boost for starting. Charging the portable booster with the wall outlet adapter now. Has low (red), med (yellow), good (green) indicator lights that glow when on/off button is switched on. Has charged until GREEN/Good light glows when switched on now... The only OTHER indicator light is a RED CHARGING light - it's been glowing while charging (even after green was showing), but I notice after more hours charging, it's turning yellowish or lighter? Wondering how long should the MVP Booster be charged - does the light eventually turn white, or green???

SOURCE: bad brake booster

If you know for sure that the booster has failed, you need to unbolt the master cylinder from it, (sometimes you can move it away enough to not even disconnect lines.) Then unbolt the booster from the firewall, disconnect the pedal linkage if connected to booster. Remove & replace booster assembly and everything else you you took off. If you didn't have to remove master cyl you are done. If removed, bleed master before putting back into service!

SOURCE: No glow plug light, car turns over but won't start, no CEL or codes

I don't have the solution but a possible help in diagnosing.  If you remove the water temperature sensor connector from the sensor, the glow plug light should stay on when you go to start the car.  Try leaving it on for 15 seconds and then start the car.  If it starts right away, it is your sensor.  If it doesn't, the good luck.
The sensor is located on the right side of the engine near the top, at the back.  It is in the coolant fitting directly behind the hose from the rad, just left of the thermostat.  Be careful to disconnect the wires, and not remove the sensor, or you will loose a lot of coolant.  The sensor is held in by a separate plastic clip, and the harness just has a little built in clip on the side.  Hope you have small hands...

This could be an Injector But, Not likely. Try this First, It is a long shot But, It is Cheaper. Replace your Gas cap. You could be Sucking air into the Tank from a Bad Gasket on the Gas Cap Causing your Hard Start.

Ran out of gas & won't start

will try to help. did it run out of gas and you kept cranking it until the batterys now dead? if so, try this, add at least three gallons of fuel to the tank. then apply booster cables to it from another vehicle. allow 10 minutes of boosting,do not attempt to start during boost for10min. after 10minutes turn your key to on position, not start, just on for 10seconds,do this at least 5times. after the 5th time attempt to start engine. if starts, disconnect the booster cables immeadiatlly. ley car run for at least 10 minutes or drive it to gas station for more fuel.hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

My cigarette lighter is not charging in my car what could it be?

You mean there seems to be no power to the vehicle's lighter unit outlet.

This lighter unit outlet is normally wired through its own fuse so check the fuse panel in the car for a blown fuse. If blown it must be replaced with a fuse of the correct amperage. The owner's manual will show you where the fuse is located.

Before you check the fuse just check the cigarette lighter outlet with another plug-in device if you have one such as a portable 12 volt tire compressor or a 12 volt plug-in auxiliary light. It could be that if you are using a charger from the outlet, the charger plug or wiring may be faulty rather than the car's power outlet itself. (These outlets don't usually give trouble unless the wiring has been messed with or the outlet itself has been damaged or abused).

If no device works from the lighter power outlet check the fuse as it may be blown.

I have a 1998 new beetle the battery is dead and I cant open the hood and the hood release is not working. Any suggestions?

Sure!
Obtain one of those "portable air compressor/battery booster/power supply" ($50 or borrow one) and charge it using the supplied a/c adapter.
Then plug it into your 12v outlet (a.k.a.cigarette lighter) and the hood release (and your radio) should work.

Power outlet stoped working in front and back

Yes, it most likely did blow a fuse, most fuse boxes are under the hood you will see a fuse box close to the fire wall. Also there may be one on the drivers side, open the door and look on the side of the dash, look for a cut out to stick your finger nail in and pull out. Be careful with fuses as your car will have one for the air bags. read your drivers manual for the location of the fuse box and the fuse that is bad.

Left keys in ignition overnight, turned to have interior lights on. battery is dead, cant get key out or pop trunk to get to the battery to charge it.

If you know anyone that has a portable booster, you should be able to plug the cord from the 12v outlet on the booster into the 12v (cigarette lighter or accessory charger) in the car, and get enough power to pop the trunk.
