Question about Buick Park Avenue

1 Answer

Don't know where the suction line is on this particular vehicle. The large and small fittings look like there are on the same line which to I haven't seen before. I've done alot of air conditioner work over the yrs and this one is new to me.

Which port do I add Fremont the small one or the large one on my 1998 Fleetwood Bounder with a ford 460

It will be the small fitting, the charge fitting on the hose should only fit the small one. Large fitting is the liquid line (discharge), small fitting usually on the larger a/c line, is the suction port.

Where is the ac drier accumulator located?

THE TYPE OF VEHICLE WOULD HELP BUT IT WASN'T PROVIDED. THE ACCUMULATOR IS A LARGE ALUMINUM CANNISTER NEAR THE FIREWALL AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE EVAPORATOR HOUSING. THE LOW SIDE OR SUCTION LINE IS CONNECTED TO THE ACCUMULATOR

Where is the Lower Port so you can put Refrigerant for the A/C?

You add refrigerant to the port on the suction line of car. And if you are using 134a refrigerant, the manifold hose will only fit the suction line port so you do not have to worry about using the wrong one. Locate the two pipes going to the compressor - the one that is not hot is the suction line - follow it back till you come across the port.

Where is fuel filter located on 1966 corvair?

The fuel filter is located inside the inlet fitting to the carburetor(s) It is very small, about the diameter of a large magic marker and about 3/4" long, you will need the special fuel line fitting wrenches to remove the fuel line and then the barrel adapter that is screwed into the carb inlet/bowl (1"), if you don't use them you can destroy the fittings. Below is a picture.

I want to recharge my AC refrigerant but I don't know which valve to use. It has 2.1 by the radiator and 1 by the passenger side firewall.

your hose will only fit the suction side, it is the smaller valve (the hose on the suction (low) side is wider than the high pressure side too).

Where is the oriface tube for the a/c?

Hello TJ.
If yours is the S15 Jimmy it is mounted inside the inlet tube to the evaporator.
Number 142 in the diagram below.8692419.gif

If it is the full size Jimmy the orifice tube is located in the evaporator inlet pipe (high side line) at the liquid line connection.
You will need to undo #41 nut to get to it.
Here is a diagram.

This should cover your question.

Trying to recharge air conditioning. need to know info.

Large line is the suction. When charging freon always use the larger of the two lines. If there is a charging port at the accumulator(canister shaped device on/near firewall), use that one. Inside the accumulator is liquid. Good luck.

Ac recharge

You have a large diameter suction pipe 1/2" and a small pressure pipe 3/8" coming from your a/c compressor, follow the larger pipe until you come to a plastic cap sitting on the line, take off cap to see filler valve. Looks like a large tire valve.
