Question about Chrysler Pacifica

1 Answer

I have asked this before but have to ask again. The heater fan stopped working on my wifes 1992 Chrysler New Yorker. The expert said it might not be the fan but something else up near the coolant tank. She banged on the fan compartment below the glove compartment and it would start blowing. But now it has just stopped completely. The motor is a 3.8 6 cylinder. How do I get access to the fan.Might need pictures kinda stupid.

The glove comparment is out.Theres two black boxes there.Taped on both thought maybe one would start the fan. That way atleast I would know where to start.

Thanks for choosing FixYa. You should be able to get to it from the glove box. I believe there is six screws that must be taken off. Take off the heating panel and you should have access to your heating fan.

The manual says the blower motor is located behind the glove box (instructions say remove glove box to gain access to blower motor). There is a blower motor resistor located behind the washer reservoir that can also be your problem. In the manual, it doesn't mention anything about two boxes. I would think one of them is your motor. Have you removed the panel? If not, that might be what you are seeing. They should be able to come out.

call the dealer and see if you can buy the "pigtail" for the resistor. if not, you may need to find one in a salvage yard and cut it from the harness.

Heater blower motor just quit working during heavy rain.checked all fuses glove box and under hood;gm told me it was a relay behind the blower motor panel.ps 1992 Chrysler new yorker salon how do i replace...

The rain had nothing to do with it. What ever GM told you was a quess, unless they worked on it. You never change parts until you know their bad. Have to at least know how to test relay, if you do find it. Stop by dealer, they will come out and remove it for free

I have a 1992 New Yorker, I turn on the fan for the interior and get lots of air, but it doesn't enter the car, basically it blows somewhere, just not in the car.

Check for blocked intake ducts. IF no restrictions are found, possibly a bad blend door, mode door, or vacuum leak not letting them work.

89 Chrysler New Yorker , heater/blower came on while driving, can't turn it off. The buttons don't work.

Try a new heater blower motor resister, most likely shorted out, the resister controls blower speeds, and also makes blower run.
