Question about 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Open Question

I have a 94 jeep grand cherokee 4x4 v8 5.2. It has been making a chirping noise coming from the front for about a year now. I have replaced the tensionor pulley, power steering pump and pulley, altinator, idler pulley, ac pulley, and the belt. The front end of this motor is brand new and it still makes the noise. any idea as to what it is?

I might not have enough information but the squeal is most likely a worn bearing. Try to isolate it with a "mechanic's stethescope" to locate the source. A pin point shot of WD-40 at the whining bearing (NO NOT put it on good bearings should TEMPORARILY quiet it IF it is a bearing. DO NOT overspray, just at the center of the pulleys...the lubricant should get pulled into bearing to confirm that the pump (power steering would be my guess) needs replacing.

SOURCE: Jeep cherokee country tensioner pulley noise

May be a weak tensioner that needs replacing. Make sure you clean pulleys well with brake cleaner or similar as well. I have had one with similar problem, that Gator back belt was causing it. I'm not 100% convinced that a notched belt will get as good a grip as a complete rib all the way around the belt. Just doesn't add up to me. If you compare that to tire grip, then you'd be telling me that snow tires would work better on the Nascar circuit?

SOURCE: My 97 jeep grand cherokee makes a chirping sound under front

The noise and the light may or may not be related. The noise may be the wear indicator on the brake pads touching the rotor (they are supposed to do that when brakes are worn) The abs light triggers off a wheel on the axle end. If you have a bad joint on the axle, it could be noisy and causing the wheel to not have the proper clearance to the abs sensor. You really need to take the wheel and brake assembly off and carefully inspect everything. Make sure all abs sensor wires are undamaged...it doesn't have to be at the same wheel that's chirping.

SOURCE: How do I replace the Idler Pulley on my 1994 Jeep

Should only be one bolt going thru the center of the pulley. probably a 14 or 15mm size.

Take the brakes apart & look for the problem

Brakes have to come apart once a year anyway,
to remove rust, inspect & lube & you flush the brake
fluid every 2 years,on all vehicles

Maybe the rubber flex hose is restricted or the calipers
& fluid are neglected & everything is just rusted & nothing
works

Just bought a 94 jeep grand Cherokee all wheel drive and it is making a loud noise and wanders all over the road . what can the problem be

yes the tire size is very important! however assuming everything is the correct equipment the wandering problem is likely the u-joints in the front axles binding. If this is the case the front axle u-joints need to be replaced. This is very common on 4x4 vehicles with solid front axles. Good luck!

I have a 93 jeep grand cherokee 4x4 it is starting to hop when turning

It's the gears in the front diff. that are bad. You will need to replace those gears or the entire front solid axle.
