Replace all the window switches, it sounds like they operate intermittently. Also check the wiring in the rubber tubing that goes between the door and the frame. these wires can break from flexing. I have come across this problem before and that was the solution.

nitescot, What you can try is to open up the rubber boot running from the body of the vehicle to the door. The constant opening and closing of the door will sometimes cause the wires inside the boot to break. This is a common problem when it comes to power windows. Open the boot with a knife being careful not to damage the wires inside. Look for any broken wires. Repair as necessary. Good luck with this.

Door locks or windows not working at times.

Alot of older cars and even some newwer cars and truck, you may find that door locks or windows work sometimes and not other times and they may not work at all. i've found that many of them are not working due to a broken wire or two in the wiring coming inside the door where the door hinges are located, in side the rubber boot, pull boot back from rear and front one at a time and take a good look at the wiring , make sure there are no broken wires, these wires sometimes break in half from the door opening and closing so many times, if you find a broken wire it can be repaired by adding a small peice and crimping them back together. this happens to alot of makes and models, like jeep, chrysler and gm,

Driver window wont go up or down. Installed new switch and have DC voltage to ground on both wires to motor when activating the switch

have you tried putting 12 volts directly to one side of the window motor and providing a good ground to the other side to see if it will work then ? Try tapping on the motor with a small hammer first and see if it starts working, if it does the motor has a bad spot on the armature and it may work again for a while but eventually it will do it again and the motor will just need to be replaced. Also check wires wher they pass through from the body to the door. They break there sometimes from the door being opened and closed repeatedly.

Passenger window operates intermittingly. When it

The problem could be in the master window switch on the drivers door, or the window motor could be going out, but most likely the cause is a broken wire inside of the weather boot that runs between the door and the body of the vehicle, and the broken wire is making intermittent contact because the door is being opened and closed all the time, and sometimes the wire will touch and make the connection and that is why it only works sometimes.

Try this the next time that the window stops working, hold the window switch down in whatever direction that you want the window to go (up or down) and while holding the switch in that position open and close the drivers side door and move or wiggle around the weather boot that contains the wiring that is between the door and the body of the vehicle, and do the same for the passenger side door, if the window starts working while you are holding down the window switch and opening and closing the door or moving around the weather boot between the door and the body of the vehicle, then there is a broken wire or even wires that will need to be repaired.

The broken wire can be on either the passenger side, or most likely on the drivers side, and if you do find a broken wire or wires, then you should repair the wires by soldering them well and use the same gage wire if you need to lengthen the wire to repair it successfully, and do not use a wire connector if you want the repair to last.

First open your drivers door. Now while holding the switch to go up or down....wiggle the wire harness between the door and the truck. Try this while moving the door from slightly closed to fully open. Try slightly wiggling some under the dash if thats not it. There sometimes are wires under the carpet for the windows....push down on a few spots while holding your switch also. Hope this helps to locate the problem

2003 Windstar power doors, power mirrors trouble

You may have to inspect the wiring of the devices. If you say the contacts including those for the relay are ok, then the ground connection or exposed conductors may the the source of the problem. Water, vibration may cause failures for such cases.

Sounds like you have some wiring issues. Did you recently install any new hardware into your car? If so, I would check all the wiring to make sure it is correct and that you are not shorting anything out. Also check all the fuses to make sure none are blown or need replacing.

Drivers side window wont close - completely open

If other windows work, it won't be the fuse. Probably switch on door, wiring at door hinge area, or motor. Did you try banging on the inside of the door panel about half way down while hitting the switch, or pulling up on window while someone pushes the switch? That's providing you can get a grip on the glass. Sometimes motor will hit a dead spot & sharp blow to panel, will get it moving again until better fix can be done.
