What does it mean when my service maintenance light comes on a 2002 acura rl that has 117,000 miles on it.

This service light comes on every 5000 miles and remind you of an oil change , after oil change has been done , the light suppose to be reset.
The scheduled services performed according to Maintanence Schedule , up on exeeded mileage.(usualy comes as separate booklet or as a part of owner manual book).

My car has a **** and it is skipping. The service engine light has come on. I have about 117,000 miles on it.

Take your car to any AAMCO repair shop where they now scan your computer for free. That will tell you why the service engine light came on and also ask them to reset it. That info from your car's computer will tell you why it is skipping.

please mark my answer as very helpful. thanks

2002 monte carlo overheating

Better make sure the fan works. There is a switch on the radiator that turns the fan on when it gets to a certain temperature. It could be the fan or the switch. Your thermostat is not your cap, it's in a different location. (Usually at the engine end of the upper radiator hose) Get the leak check! A good garage can pressure test the system to see what leaks you might have.

Starting truck ,its idle speeds up and down, then gets better

it sounds like you have a vaccume leak you need to get some starter spray and while the truck is running you need to spray it on the vacume lines and when you spray it and the idle get better the means thats where the leak is and you need to replace the hose

1990 Ford Probe 2.2 automatic stalls in forward, reverse OK

Sounds like a bad IAC (idle air control valve/sensor) that controls your idle when going from throttle to idle. If bad your idle will act crazy and can cause stalls easily. Pretty sure that's it.
