Your O2 Sensor most likely set a lean code, because
you have a vacuum leak, you should be able to find
and resolve yourself

If the O2 Sensors have not been replaced at 100,000
miles do that
Again a 15 minute job you can do

Why would you ask about a fuel filter ?

Don't you have a maintainance log
& replace the fuel filter every 3 years ?

Jeep engine problems

Check for intake leaks, intake hose leaks, check mass air flow sensor.
02 sensors will keep setting off a lean code until the air problem is fixed.

Rich fuel 02 sensor

Which one? Does the code say rich? Something a lot of people don't know,is that a poorly burning engine(,say plugs are dirty or wiring is leaking spark), will cause the O2 sensor to read a LEAN mixture because of the volume of uncombusted air,and the sensor will call for more gas, which actually makes the engine even less efficient. So make sure the engine is tuned up well, the air cleaner filter is clean, and so on. THEN replace the designated O2 sensor if problem persists. don-ohio (:^)

Wants to stall with lite gas peddle application

You could check and clean throttle body and iac control, see if it helps? Check the throttle position sensor. Does the fuel injector spray pattern look ok?
I would want to check fuel trims, to see if running rich or lean? Any more the 02 sensor is part of a tune-up.
Do you have good engine vacuum at idle? If this a high mileage engine, I'm not sure it will ever run perfect?
I don't know litre size of engine?

I have a 2000 Hyundai Sonata that runs rough when you start it up. I hooked a code reader to it and it said that system was lean on bank 1 and multi misfire and not reading 02 sensor on bank one. I have...

time to get the engine properly scanned, real time not code scanner, then you will have the readings from sensore and actuators, diagnose from there

Check engin lite is on . i dont kno if its the fule filter, or someing else. i never have problems with the car. its a1996 crown vic police car

Its not the fuel filter.

The check engine light comes on because the computer sees a fault with a sensor, device, or system. Your best bet is to pull the codes with a scan tool. Check your local auto parts store. Sometimes they will do this for free. You can also pick up a code reader for about $40. The last option is to bring it to a shop and pay a diagnostic fee to pull codes and diagnose the cause of the code.

Once you know the codes you'll have a much better idea of what is causing the light to come on. Me best guess is an EGR code, O2 code, or lean codes.

I have a 1997 chevy silverado putting out a code of p0174 what does this mean?

Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 2 detected a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust). On V6/V8/V10 engines, Bank 2 is generally the side of the engine that doesn't have cylinder #1.

A code P0174 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

•The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters can cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry.
•There could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor.

Possible solutions include:

•In the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for its location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling
•Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary
•Check for a dirty fuel filter and proper fuel pressure

Right and left bank running to lean

Things to check:

The air filter element for being restricted. An Airhog type air filter can be a problem if too much oil is sprayed on it.

MAF sensor for being installed in the proper direction and for foreign objects blocking the inlet screen.

For fuel in the pressure regulator hose. Also the fuel pressure should be tested. If its low the engine will run lean.

For excessive fuel in the crankcase. A bad injector(s) causes this.

As jaa278 said the 02 sensor(s) can be bad.

The catalytic converters should also be checked.

Code p1131 on a 1999 mercury cougar

Lack of HO2S-11 Switch, Indicates Lean.Right bank front 02 sensor. When an HO2S sensor indicates lean at the end of a test, the system is trying to correct for an over-lean condition. The code is set when the fuel control system no longer detects switching for a calibrated amount of time.In other words the 02 sensor is indicating lean and the fuel trim has reached the programed limit trying to correct it.
There are many things that could cause this like a bad 02 sensor,a vacuum leak,a leaking or contaminated fuel injector/s,a stuck open PCV valve, leak in hose between MAF sensor and engine causing un-metered or unmeasured air entering the engine, exhaust leak, improperly seated oil dipstick, stuck EGR valve.
Check PCV valve first if it is stuck open if you pull the hose off of the valve cover that hooks to the air tube between MAF and engine you will feel a strong vacuum pull there, normal you would hardly feel it.
