double check that you are going around the correct side of each pully,
rule of thumb the belt has a front "grooved" side and a back "flat" side the pullys will be set up the same, (flat with flat, groved with grooved)

Cant get the new fan belt back around pully

First, be sure that it is the correct belt for your application and be sure that it is routed properly. Now, using 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch ratchet, stick into the idler pulley to reposition the pulley so that it allows for the belt to be put back on properly. Remove ratchet and check belt tension. If everything appears to be in order, start car and observe that belt will remain in position. Hopefully, this will help to FixYa problem!

Want to fit fan belt cant find the proper way

You have to find the tension pully. using a 3/8 socket wrench. not the socke but the actual wrench. place the square end of the wrench into the notch on the pully and either push or pull (depends on the v-belt system) and it should move. place your v-belt around the pully's according to the diagram under your hood leaving your tension pully to be the last one the belt goes on. Move that tension pully as mentioned above and place it the belt on the pully. The diagram under the hood should also show you where that tension pully is located.

I have a ford galaxy and my power steering belt has snaped the new one wont fit back on witch pully is the ajuster

if you look at the engine youll see the alternator directly above the alternator you will see a pully which doesnt have grooves on the surface like the rest of the pullys. this smooth pully is the tensioner pully and you will need to use a large ratchet or spanner to to lift up the pully (its on a spring) so you can fit the belt.
shiney pullys indicate that they sit or rest on the outside of the belt.

hope this helps

How to fit a alternator belt on a 1.8 diesal escort van 51plate

This should be the same as a car, jack the front of the car up put stands under, remove front wheels, remove bottom cover (about 7 screws), Remove powersteering pump pully 3 bolts, remove and refit new belt and P/S pully, you might get away with not having to adjust alt but if you have to youll need a 13mm spanner to undo the locking bolt then pull the alt tight (its really tight u might need a bar), once all done replace in reverse order.

What size serpentine belt do you need to bypass a compressor in a 1993 Cadillac Sedan DeVille? it has a 4.9 liter engine .. and is it possibal

You will need what is called an idle pully and be fitted instead of the compressor the same belt will fit. This is the correct way. An alternative way is to take the bely off the compressor pully and leave it on the other pully's pull it hand tignt holding the excess of the belt in your hand. Now check the belt won't rub on the engine or component's. If the belt has fully cleared all then Release the tensioner all the way and measure the length of belt needed to go around all pully's except the compressor. Take the measurement and the old belt to an autofactor's the old belt is important to have because the dimentions of the belt depth and width are also important. They will be able to check for a belt to suit your need's. Belt dosent need to be the exact length of your measurement 1 to 3 inches longer should be adjustable. cheers

Bypassing air compressor in a chevy 95 g20 van

Well if you're trying to bypass the air conditioning compressor, your original serpentine belt will obviously not work as it will be too long. Installing another pulley would really be more work that it's worth and likely cost a fair amount since you'd have to have a custom bracket made, or a mount to fit in place of the compressor. Your best bet would be to have your local parts supply look up the belt for the same make, model, year and engine specs as your vehicle but without Air Conditioning. The g20 uses all the same mounting locations for other belt driven accessories regardless of the presence of an AC compressor. Therefore, the belt should fit just fine. Also, you should spot on the belt routing diagram under the hood that it shows the optional routing for a belt without AC. (It does on mine anyway) Good luck and let me know how it goes.
