Noise in tank is fuel pump. ABS light on is another problem - ABS is your anti lock brakes - more than likely a sensor is worn or disconnected check wheel sensors.

The rotor bearings are bad in the fuel pump. Pull the gas tank and replace the pump before it fails, it will likely be in the near future or when the weather turns cold..

How to change the fuel pump

Basicaly your fuel pump located inside of gas tank, you have to lift and secure the vehicle high enough to lose and drop the gas tank!!
Before decided to do this make sure gas tank is near empty lift&secure the vehicle visual check around the gas tank make sure all fuel and evap lines are disconnected nothing hold the gas tank except holder brackets, use under jack and safely secure gas tank( do not use direct jack to gas tank use wooden piece to dont damage it)
use right size socket and wrench lose braket holdet nuts and bolts safely drop the tank and place on safe work place (no smokes or sparks)
locate to fuel pump and remove the locker pin and pull out fuel pump slowy your fuel pump should sale complete assembly so replace pump unit and be carefully complete wire connections (TIPS,,With new fuel pump make sure replace the sealing gasket with correct new one or you gonna have serivce engine light for small evap leak so make it right at first time!!))
reinstall eveything the way you removed it !!
good luck and make sure you gonna have helper around to drop the tank<

Fuel pump is making a noise. Also when we put any amount of gas in tank it doesn't seem to want to start

first off, it seems that you may have two issues at once. 1) the noise may be from water in the tank from condensation (winter time and not filling up all the way) run some gas drier with a full tank to see if that helps. or there may be dirt of some kind in your tank clogging up the pick-up line/ sock/ filter. in that case, change the fuel filter(s) and or wait til the dirt gets filtered out of the tank.
Also, you may want to have a pressure test done to see if the fuel pump is going bad, if the noise is worse when it is hot outdoors and there is not much fuel in the tank and there is a "buzzing" sound from the pump, then the pump is likely going bad.

2) it sounds like you may have a loose connection to the fuel level sender (usually at the unit on the tank itself) I'm not familiar with this model myself as far as getting at the wiring for the sender, but it should be available in your Haynes/ Chilton, etc. manual.

Good Luck!!

My car will not start...it has gas. It turns over..it just wont start.

Sounds like a broken fuel pump, or it could be a coil, have someone crank the car, and you stand by near the gas tank, when the ignition is opened, you should hear a winding noise by the fuel tank, thats the fuel pump running, if no noise, then more than likely thats your problem.

IF WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY ON THE FUEL PUMP WILL RUN FOR 3 SECOUND THEN SHUT OFF IF THAT WHAT YOU ARE HEARING THEN YES ITS THE PUMP STARTING TO GO OUT AND IT IN THE FUEL TANK IF YOU TAKE THE GAS CAP OFF AND PUT A FUNNEL IN THE TANK AND HAVE SOMEONE TURN THE KEY ON YOU CAN HEAR IT RUN

I started my 92' Geo Tracker and started down my drive way when it just cut off. Now it will not start back, it is getting fire to the distributor cap,is full of gas and wil turn over but not start! Please...

Is the fuel pump running? When you turn the key to the run position (the dash lights come on), you should hear a humming sound coming from the gas tank for a few seconds. Thats the fuel pump running to pressurize the system before starting. It's kind of hard to hear, so get a friend to sit in the car while you lay on the ground near the gas tank. Have them turn on the key and listen. No hum means the fuel pump isnt working.

Ran out of gas, Got car started for a few minutes with a gallon then conked out and won't re-start. Put some dry gas in tank in case gas can w/old gas. Maybe fuse or fuel pump? Don't know where pump is...

Could be a dirty fuel filter, or intermittent fuel pump. To test the fuel pump, put the key in the ignition, then turn it up one, not start but on, and listen near the gas tank area for a click or some type of noise. If none then it might be the fuel filter (note if you don't hear anything it doesn't necessarily mean that the pump is bad). Now as for the fuel pump, it's located under the car near the gas tank and you can easily un-clip it (be careful as it might be full of gas) and that's how to remove it. Hope this helps. Best Regards.

SENDING UNIT ???????

most of fuel pumps were in tank, wire corrodes is harness under right front seat floor pan to tank
if fuel pump buzz is heard and car runs and when it doesnt run you cant hear the fuel pump try
turn ignition off wait 10 seconds
turn ignition to on position to (prime or hear pump buzz)
no buzz fuel pump not working check fuel pump relay(swap with another) and try again?
you could use test light to pump wiring and make sure your getting power to pump on this prime test no power relay or wiring problem.
power at pump, but no buzz fuel pump faulty
