Truck want start

replace the coil and condenser as the spark has to be bright dark blue with a definite snap. The orange spark is an indication of either a failed condenser (first point to check by replacing) or a burnt out coil.

My 1990 Toyota corolla turns over but won't start it just keep winding , what should I check

pull the HT lead from the coil out of the distributor and see if it sparks to the block when turning over. Place it about 1/4 inch away and you should have a blue spark. If you do not have it check the coil and see if you are getting 12 volts at the positive side of the coil.

Car stalled at30mph and wont start back up

  • Cranks but no start condition-do below to determine whether it's fuel or spark issue:
  • Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine at least 3/16 away from ground -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it.
make sure it is getting enough gas pressure

96 Sierra died while running and wont start, i smell gas when i try. The truck turns over fine, when it runs it idles great, and the injectors were redone last year.

there must be some leak on the fuel lines, might as well change the sparkplugs to have an efficient fuel burning, you may be flooding too much fuel. hope this helps

Spark is not bright blue from distributor

Change out the high voltage wiring to the plugs and to the coil. If no help, change the coil. Make sure to use a clean spark plug to check the spark.
