1993 Nissan Altima

I have a 1993 Nissan Altima that will run for 25 to 30 miles and then cut off. But once it cools off, it will start running again. Any ideas to what might be causing this?

Your ECU or ECM is defective. Send it to the shop and have it recalibrated for about $200

All new cars are computer and sensor driven the most effective way to deal with ur problem is get a diagnostic reading on your vehicle to find out the malfunctioning component. otherwise its a trail and error thing and u may fix things that r not necessary the problem. it could be something difficult or complex, the money spent on finding out whats wrong will save u future time and money

My 2005 Nissan cuts off and will not start until the engine cools

I would try getting an active diagnostic scan done on the vehicle but it sounds like it has something to do with the ignition system possibly an ignition control module or another sensor.

I have a '93 Altima an it starts up fine, but as it runs it-

starts to shake really bad an acts as though it wants too cut off; and as I begin to drive it takes for ever to pick up speed, but as I get pass 40 it starts to run as it's suppose to. Any suggestions of what's the problem?

Look for oil under the distributor cap. If you see any spots or puddles of oil under it you have the ubiquitous oil leak coming through the distributor issue. I had the same problem with my 94 Altima.
Carefully take off the distributor cap, get some contact cleaner and spray down the encoder wheel and wipe out the excess oil. "Be careful, if you chip or break the encoder wheel you'll be shopping for another distributor shaft!!" You may want to replace the gasket on the cap if you feel ambitious (However I never did and since cleaning out the distributor my Altima has been running great for the last 15K miles...)

1993 Nissan Altima will crank but won't start - sometimes - altitude issues?

The system is not affected by altitude in this way, the thing you need to check is fuel pressure, this may be pump related.

1993 altima

check fuel pressure. check distributor, leaks oil internally onto the signal plate, could cause rough running and stalling. check intake gasket. spray carb claener at the injectors and listen for engine noise change. if it changes, than intake gasket is gone. very common problem. has the car been tuned up??has the base idle ever been adjusted?? checked?? if so, than check items above.
