Bad coil or bad wires. depending on the year and make is different on every car.
sometimes new parts can be bad also. have you checked to see if your getting power to your coil?

Just changed the plugs , plug , wires and coil packs made sure everything was plugged back up it tries to start but want any ideas

I need to know year--make--model?
Did you visually check for spark at the spark plugs? If no spark, did you check primary voltage to coil pack?
Engine cranking did you use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse? If your missing everything, check for rpm signal.
Any applicable trouble codes?

How long since a tune-up? Are there any applicable trouble codes?
If your saying, no spark at the spark plugs. Check the cap--rotor--spark plugs and wires, check the coil. Check primary voltage at the coil goes hot with key on.

Scan the computer for trouble codes and see which cylindr/s are misfiring. You may have a defective ignition coil causing your problem if the spark plugs have already been changed

2001 ford ranger 3.0. trouble codes p0174 and p0304. replaced coil,wires,plugs,.ran fine for a while light is back on again same codes.running down highway light blinks.come to a complete stop light goes...

The light blinks to let the driver know the problem is serious enough to damage the catalytic converter.
If you know for a fact cylinder 4 is getting a hot spark, it could be the fuel injector. Code 304 means there is no power from cylinder 4.

If the engine cranks but has no spark, you need to know if the coil is getting voltage and a ground signal. The coil gets power from the ASD relay and a fuse.
Have you checked the compuer for trouble codes ?

I have a miss in my 98 ford f150 the trouble code shows up as misfire #4 and sometimes #5 cylinder what causes this

If it is a 4.2L or a 4.6L , it most likely needs spark plugs and spark plug wires. Please only use Ford spark plugs or it will not fun good after. After market spark plugs do not work too well in a Ford. After market spark plug wires can be used ok. If it is a 5.4L it has Coil On Plug which means each cylinder has its own Coil. If thats the case you may need 2 coils as well as plugs. Hope this helps. Cobra.. :-)

2002 kia optima 4 cyl po350 code ignition coil. is there a separate coil that feeds the coils at the spark plugs or are these the only ones? if so where is it located?

the coils at the plugs are the only ones, no other ignition coil. have you checked the system for trouble codes? if not get a cheap code reader and read the codes, then post them back here.

Please help

had the same problem in mine we found it was the cam shaft positioning sensor. my van had shut off and we had no current to plugs and at first thought coil pack but still nothing. no power to coil pack. then found sensor no good. also we replaced the sensor with an after market sensor and worked fine for couple months then started to shut off again. after a little research found we needed original cam shaft pos sen from dealer and since then no problems. hope this works for you.

Trouble codes

A code P0304 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • Faulty spark plug or wire
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Running out of fuel
  • Poor compression
  • Defective computer
Possible Solutions If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.
Code P0316
i've heard of the 5.4l's with the "cop" set up devolping moisture under a coil. if it hasn't again that is most likely the problem. to prevent this you could remove each coil and apply dielectric grease to the tops of the plugs.
